Hello again my fellow Kaijudo
Duelists! It's literally freezing here but I'm going
to chill and bring you number six on our list of the
Top Ten Cards from 2013. Today we're taking a look
at Keeper of Laws.
Name: Keeper of Laws
Civilization: Light
Type: Creature
Race: Storm Patrol
Level: 4
Power: 3500
Flavor Text: Even in peacetime, each keeper
of laws travels with an honor guard of thunder
cruisers.
Rarity: Rare
Set Number: 7/110 l 7CLA
Abilities:
Deflecting Aura- While you have another
creature in the battle zone, this creature can't be
the target of your opponent's spells and abilities.
Spell Siphon-Whenever your opponent casts a
spell, you may draw a card.
I've reviewed this bad boy in
the past and since then, it's only gotten better! A
level 4 Storm Patrol with a respectable 3500 power
that has two amazing abilities. Whenever your
opponent plays a spell, you can draw a card. Keep in
mind that this effect is optional, so if your
opponent forgets to activate it, oh well! What makes
this effect so good is that it allows Keeper to
replace itself if targeted by something like Bone
Blades. Most of the time though that won't even be
an issue due to Keeper's other effect.
As long as you have another
creature in the battle zone, Keeper can't be
targeted by spells or abilities! No Bone Blades or
Terror Pits are going keep this guy down! It gets to
the point in the game that this card is quite
annoying due to the loss of interaction you have
with it. When you can't do anything to a card,
frustration rises in the opposing player. Don't even
get me started on having two or three Keepers out at
once...
This card has even more cards
to combo with now, including Tricky Turnip on turn
three and King Neptas on turn five. If you can
manage to get there, you can even bring out Eternal
Haven to have a full board of untargetable
creatures.
This card dictates a lot of
games and will force your opponent to get rid of the
spells that they were planning on previously using
and will make good cards turn into bad plays. There
are still a few tricks to get rid of this card but
they'll likely still give the Keeper's controller an
advantage. Stormspark Blast allows you to tap down
all creatures and will allow you to swing
over Keeper. Slayers are also a neat way around this
card too, but they haven't seen as much play at this
point in the game. Untargetable creatures make me
cringe at times when my opponent starts attacking my
shields. It doesn't matter what you have, outside of
Stormspark Blast and cards that aren't really used
like Devouring Smog, it's not going to allow you to
take care of their creature. It's a horrible card to
face but an amazing feeling when you're in control
of it.
Ratings:
Constructed: 5.00/5.00
(One of the best cards in the game and changes the
game the moment it hits the board on turn four.)
Limited: 5.00/5.00
(Decent power level and will keep your opponent from
playing spells that would only net them some minor
advantage.
Make sure to stop by tomorrow when we take a look at
number five on the list! Also, be sure to check out
