Hello again my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters! Today we're taking a look at a card that was extremely hyped upon it's reveal from Clash of the Duel Masters. It hasn't seen  a ton of play as of yet but maybe after you read through this review you might reconsider. Let's take a look at Shapeshifter Scaradorable.

Name: Shapeshifter Scaradorable
Civilization:
Darkness
Type: Evolution Creature
Race:
Chimera
Level:
3
Power:
5000
Flavor Text: "Squeaky, you're like a miniature...Bob!" -Allie
Rarity: Very Rare
Set Number: 36/110 l 7CLA
Abilities:
Evolution-
Put on one of your creatures.
Loyal Friend-When this creature is banished, return this card from your discard pile to your hand.
Doppelganger-This creature can be evolved on as though it had all creature types, card names, and civilizations.

In Clash of the Duel Masters we were given a new Evolution form for the main three creatures in the show, one of which being Squeaky. This form is a level 3 Chimera that returns back to your hand if it were to be banished. Keep in mind that it will gain effects of "When a creature is banished..." since it is in fact banished and sent to the discard pile when it's effect activates and resolves. The kicker though, you can evolve this card from any creature in existence and you can place any evolution on top of this card... types, civilizations, it all is irrelevant!

Looking at the real world applications of this card it's either being thrown in a rush style deck or in a deck that wants to run a ton of evolutions. Sadly, none of these ideas have really hit the mainstream but there is a ton of potential out there. With every set we get, there's another evolution to play. There could be an insanely powerful one and Shapeshifter will get you there.

One of the cool aspects of this card is that it essentially gives you a 5000 power creature with Fast Attack each turn as long as you can continue to produce the evo-bait. This can present a problem when you're aggressively attacking your opponent and they play Bone Blade or Terror Pit.

I believe this card was originally designed to be able to evolve into the new Tatsurion from the set and make him playable. Right now it seems people don't want to stray away from the current meta and run Shadow Champions or Skyforce Champions (although I've made quite the deck with them!). Maybe in the future Squeaky will shine but until then she's just another cute face... with wings and a tail.

Ratings:

Constructed: 3.00/5.00 (Not a bad card but underutilized currently in the game. Sets up a lot of combos with evolutions.)
Limited: 3.75/5.00 (Turn your small creatures into early powerhouses every turn and make any other evolution that you drafted or opened playable!)

Stop by again tomorrow when we continue our reviews and of course make sure to check out my channel for new content including my "Master Commentator" contest video! Until next time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!
