Welcome to our Wednesday
edition of the Card of the Day here at Pojo.com! I
hope your week has been going well; if it hasn't,
then maybe our review today could deal with those
less desirable memories. Today we take a look at
this memory eating parasite, Grudge Weaver, let's
get started!
Name: Grudge Weaver
Civilization: Darkness
Type: Creature
Race: Brain Jacker
Level: 2
Power: 1000
Flavor Text: It finds memories delicious.
Rarity: Common
Set Number: 29/55 l 6DSI
Abilities:
Blocker
(You may tap this creature to change an enemy
creature's attack to this creature.)
Guard (This creature can't attack.)
Brainbite- When this creature is banished, your
opponent chooses and discards a card.
Grudge Weaver is your typical
Blocker that also has the Guard ability, making it
pointless to use for anything except blocking your
opponent's creatures. Well, yes and no... Grudge
Weaver is a Level 2 with only a measly 1000 power,
so it will likely die to anything that it guards
against; that's exactly what you want to happen!
Weaver has an ability called "Brainbite"
which states that if he is banished in any
way that your opponent has to discard a card from
their hand. So if your opponent uses a card like
Comet Missile, Bone Blades, Barrage, etc, you can
expect to gain some advantage off of it. In rare
circumstances, Weaver may be able to trade with a
creature but it's doubtful that your opponent will
give you that much of an advantage.
One really fun and cool combo
you can do with Weaver involves using Ripper Reaper
or a similar card that will banish one of your
creatures. I've personally summoned a Ripper Reaper
and banished Weaver and made my opponent lose a
creature and a card in hand!
I think that this card has a
lot of potential, especially early game when
advantage can be crucial. I like to see this card as
a Specter Claw with a free block attached. I know
from experience that this card can give people
headaches at times especially when using it in a
mono-darkness deck that continues to recycle this
card almost endlessly!
Ratings:
Constructed: 2.75/5.00
(This card won't be single-handedly winning you any
games, however, it can create disruption and slow
the pace of the game in your favor if used
properly.)
Limited: 3.00/5.00 (This
Blocker can disrupt your opponent's strategy and
will keep them from attacking early game until they
don't have a hand, then the game's afoot!)
Tomorrow we heat things up with
a card that could find itself into rush decks; check
back and see if you think that's a viable idea!
Until next time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep
calm and game on!
