Welcome back to Pojo’s Card of
the Day! We recently received a bunch of new preview
cards all around the internets and Clash of the Duel
Masters continues to have me intrigued. Personally
I'm waiting for some Darkness/Water or Darkness/Fire
spoilers but I can be patient. Well, this week we're
continuing the trend of reviewing cards that you
will likely see at your local KMCs in a few short
weeks. Hopefully with a better idea of what these
cards are and what they are capable of doing will
prepare you in your quest to be a Kaijudo Master.
Let's get started with today's card, Sun-Stalk Seed.
Name:
Sun-Stalk Seed
Civilization: Light
Type:
Creature
Race: Star Sentinel
Level: 2
Power: 3000
Flavor Text:
The cyber lords haven't yet observed a fully
grow sun-stalk seed. And they are very, very
curious.
Rarity:
Common
Set Number:
30/165 l
3RIS
Abilities:
Blocker
(You may tap this creature to change an enemy
creature’s attack to this creature.)
Skirmisher
(This creature can attack only creatures.)
Sun-Stalk Seed is very similar
to the other blockers of the Light Civilization
since it has more power than you would expect for
its level. With 3000 power at Level 2, this is
almost the equivalent of Reef Eye for the Water
Civilization, except Sun-Stalk can attack creatures
with its Skirmisher ability.
This is one of those cards that
can be thrown in a deck to deal with early game rush
cards and can deal with them fairly effectively. It
gets around Barrage but not so much with Dragon's
Breath. It's still susceptible to all of the other
removal in the game, however if it's early game, it
can buy you enough time to force your opponent to
use a turn for removal.
Aside from its power level and
being a skirmisher, there isn't much else to say
about what this card can do for you; it's not an
Enforcer, so it won't be evolving into anything
anytime soon. It's an early blocker and does its job
well. After turn four it can become easily
exploitable, so use it wisely. Expect to see 2-3 of
these guys floating around in light variant decks.
Ratings:
Constructed:
3.00/5.00 (It's a decent blocker for early game
that slows down rush and can attack creatures.)
Limited:
3.25/5.00 (Early blockers are good in sealed
play and even more so against cards like Aqua
Seneschal, Razorhide, etc.)
Make sure to stop back again
tomorrow when we take a look at more commonly played
tournament level cards.
Until next
time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and
game on!
