Name: Searing Wave
Cost: 5
Civilization: Fire
Type: Spell
Rules Text:
Destroy all your opponent's creatures that have power 3000 or less.
Choose one of your shields and put it into your graveyard.
Flavor Text:
Surf's up!
Mana Number: 1
Artist: Dustmoss
Rarity: U
Collector Number: 41
Set: Rampage of the Super Warriors

Civilization: Fire says: MUST KILL ALL THINGS LITTLE!!! Searing Wave says: MUST KILL ALL THINGS LITTLE!!! They go together well don't they?

Effect: Kill all of your opponents creatures with 3000 power or less, so this kill everything from Bronze arm tribe to rumbling terrahorn. All Little guys fear this card, as it's power drowns them all in it's boiling embrace. But you remember what your mama said right, "If you play with fire your going to get burned". So if you play with a sea of lava you can expect what will happen. Burning 1/5 of your staring protection off sure can hurt, especially when it's your last shield. The most important thing about this card is to know when to play it. If you have 5 shields and they have a army of small creatures then it's no problem, but if you only have one shield and they have small to big creatures, then it's up to lady luck. Destroy the majority of their creatures and hope your blockers and survive next turn, or Hope the last shield is godly... (CoughHolyAweCough)When to play this card is all about common sense or how luckily you feel.
Also you most likely be wanting to get what you pay for this card. If it' only one creature you'll be killing then it would be a 2-1 trade off in there favor, 2 creatures being burned 2-2 even, 3 creatures 2-3 in your favor, and so on. So the more creatures they have the more advantage you get.
ONE MORE THING!!! I've come across this question before. Can you use this card with no shields out? yes you can. I know most of you know this, but for the people that don't.

Cost: A mass kill costing 5 mana and a shield. This card becomes cheaper the more you kill with it. But please always try to kill at least 2 creatures with this when casting it so that the card exchange stays even. It's a nice cost for what you get.

Combos: Set a shield with emeril so you don't blow up something good. I hate it when I blow up a holy awe with this.

Constructed: 4/5 a nice mass kill to have around, and also doesn't cost that much. Just be careful when you use it

Limited: 4.5/5 A kill spell here is important to have, so I would use it if I came around

Article for Searing Wave

Ricardo here back for another Card of the Day Review. Today we are reviewing the card Searing Wave. This card has been used a bit less than when it was first released, lets see why.

Name: Searing Wave
Cost: 5
Civilization: Fire
Type: Spell
Rules Text:
Destroy all your opponent's creatures that have power 3000 or less.
Choose one of your shields and put it into your graveyard.
Flavor Text:
Surf's up!
Mana Number: 1
Artist: Dustmoss
Rarity: U
Collector Number: 41
Set: Rampage of the Super Warriors
This card has lost a lot of popularity due to fire's other destruction cards, namely Apocalypse Vice.

Civilisation:
The Fire Civilisation specialises in creature kill and this card is one of the best cards available at the moment.

Cost:
This card costs 5 mana to cast, where most people would have a few creatures on the field, so this card can be used quite well.

Effect:
This card has 2 effects:
1: Destroy all your opponent's creatures that have power 3000 or less.
This is a very powerful effect, it can wipe out all your opponents little guys in one hit and this card only costs 5.

2: Choose one of your shields and put it into your graveyard.
This is the drawback for this card, however if you have no shields it is not much of a drawback, this effect balances the card and doesn't make it too powerful.

Limited:
Take this card, it slams all your opponents weenies and even Angler Clusters, which are the main blockers in this set.
4/5

Constructed:
This card has lost a lot of power thanks to Apocalypse Vice, as most of the time you won't allow your opponent to get much  field pressence, but it is still playable.
3/5
