DRY 1337

Hello folks!  It looks like we’ll be ending the week on a miserable note with this so-called “Super Rare”.  Then again, perhaps this creature has an underlying power that has not yet been discovered.  Let’s find out…

Klujadras

Cost: 7

Race: Sea Hacker

Civilization: Water

Type: Creature

Rules Text:

·         Wave striker (While 2 or more creatures in the battle zone have “wave striker”, this creature gets its wave striker ability”

o        When you put this creature into the battle zone, each player draws a card for each of his creatures in the battle zone that has “wave striker”.

Power:  4000

Hmmm… It’s a pretty card but let’s see what it can do.  For starters, it has a terrible mana to power ratio.  Having to pay 7 mana for a creature with only 4000 power seems like a terrible waste.  When this is the case, usually the creature comes with an awesome ability or combo, right?

Let’s take a look at the ability.  It’s obviously a wave striker, which already makes it somewhat inferior.  But let’s just pretend that on turn 7 your opponent is nice enough to leave 2 wave strikers on your side of the field.  This means that you can unleash this creature’s ability!  Sweet!  So now you get to draw a card for each of your wave strikers in the battle zone (trust me, you’ll be the only one playing them).  And ta da!… That’s it…

Hmmm…  What a waste.  Just leave this card in your binder and go with Illusionary Merfolk.

The Good:  It’s a super rare, which means that our collections won’t have a chance to be overrun by extra copies.

The Bad:  Pay 7 mana to get an effect similar to Illusionary Merfolk?  No thanks, I’ll take the Merfolk.

The Ugly:  They actually printed this card.

Constructed Rating: 1/5 – This card is so great.  I mean, seriously…  The way I see it you can just…  Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

Limited Rating: 1.5/5 – Zzzzzzzzzz…  Huh?  What?  Oh yeah, back to the review.  Limited is pretty much the only format where this guy belongs.  Even so you’ll be helping your opponent.

Please feel free to post your comments, questions, and/or objections on the Message Board and I’ll be more than happy to respond.  Happy dueling!

OK, Corile_484 back for another review!  Today's card is one of the new Wave Striker creatures, Klujadras!

Name- Klujadras
Civilization- Water
Type- Creature
Race- Sea Hacker
Mana Cost- 7
Power- 4000
Effect- Wave Striker (When two or more other creatures in the battle zone have "wave striker," this creature has it's - ability.)
-  When you put this creature into the battle zone, each player draws a card for each of his creatures in the battle zone that has "wave striker."
Mana Generated- 1

OK, another wave striker!  This one has an incredible draw effect but it is a little over- costed.  I have found that in my Wave Striker deck, it seems to burn out when I don't get the draw I need.  Sometimes when I top- deck him, I either don't have enough mana or I wouldn't have enough other wave strikers.  However, if you are already in control of the match and he shows up, you could draw a really good number of cards.  One time I got to draw six!  However, if you already have enough wave strikers in the battle zone to make his effect really worthwhile, you probably already have the game and his effect is pretty unnessecary.  He dosen't really have that much power compared to the other wave strikers like Asra and Sapian Tark, and his effect only really works about half of the time.  He is also a really bad card to draw in your starting hand, and a bad top- deck when you are being controlled and need something to come out of it.  So overall, when his effect actually works, it can be very beneficial, but sadly, it dosen't always work and it can also be unnessecary.  Now, on to the final reviews!

Constructed- 2/5  I just don't like him in a wave striker deck.
Limited- 2/5  Still, it will be hard to get his effect off and if you do, you could get close to decking yourself out.  I don't really like him here, either.
