What makes a good story? Is it the plot? Perhaps, but then again, not always. Many popular things are huge but when you get right down to the nitty-gritty, they have a bad/incomprehensible plot. Is it the characters? Large part, perhaps, but not all of it. Well, then, what of the writing style? Again, that's a large part indeed, but not all. There's something more, some indefinable air of quality, of feeling, of a story that makes tears come to your eyes. That's what separates excellent stories from the good ones. When I'm finished reading a good book, I close it and sit back, contemplating upon it, an air of euphoria over me. When I'm finished with an excellent book, I almost immediately feel emotions stirring up into me. I always feel a little choked up. What words do these authors use? What a magical hold they have! What wouldn't I give to have that same hold.. Every good story needs despair, a thought that the good guys will lose. And the DBZ Saga desperately needs a good story where the Bad Guys Win after all is said and done. Will I provide that story? Read and you shall find out.... Dawn.
