Chapter8 Calei awoke at around 10:30 in the morning to a very hungry stomach. She yawns and heads towards the kitchen. She stretches for a moment, yawns again, and pads over to the refrigerator for some breakfast. She remembers how sweaty she got after her training in the early hours in the morning, and how she never took a shower after. “I guess I’d better get cleaned up...YAWN...It might even wake me up... YAWN...” She continues to set up breakfast materials and puts a large pot of water to boil on the stove. Then she goes to her bathroom and takes a shower quickly. She powers up briefly to dry herself off, then she makes instant clothes so she doesn’t have to go to her room to change. She runs to the kitchen, and she sees that he water isn’t boiling yet. She shoots a small beam of ki at it and it starts to boil. “Not too long before breakfast’s ready” she says cheerily to herself. She hums quietly to pass the time as she’s cooking, and she’s almost done. After a few more minutes of stirring, she finishes cooking her breakfast. She has enough poached eggs to feed five sumo-wrestlers, and enough pancakes to feed a small pack of wolves. “This should tide me over until lunch” she says. She basically inhales her breakfast, showing no signs of table manners, almost the exact same way her father was. “Now time to get to Japan and finish my house!” She reaches the foundation ready to go. She decides to take a ‘shortcut’ and make one of her instant things--this time it’s the whole house. The whole process takes about a half an hour, which is incredibly fast, because it takes a lot of patience, energy, and time to recreate a two-story house, in detail. After she’s done, she decides to take a walk around the property. She hadn’t been there in about a year, and she wants to see what has changed. She splashes in the little brook where she had always played in, and she suddenly sees a bright yellow sphere, exactly the same as the one that had turned to stone at her new house. “How did you get here?” she asks toward the little ball. The little ball had three red-orange stars on it, and she couldn’t remember if the one that she had at her home had three stars or not. “I think that I should check to see if you are the same one that I have at home” she said as she sped off to her home, still carrying the sphere. As she flew, the little orb suddenly started to glow. It seemed to pulse, and as she flew slower, and ahead, the yellow ball pulsed at a faster pace. She lowered down to hovering level and followed the strength of the pulses. After a short while, she found yet another little ball, only this one had six stars on it. She figured that since one has six stars, then there must be five other ones, at least. She already had three, but she still wanted to check the first ball that she had found. Before she had reached her home, the two balls that she held in her hands glowed once more, and this time, she came up with the five star ball. She carried it with the others, and she flew off towards her ultimate destination--home. When she got home, she noticed that the other three balls were glowing, so that must mean that the first ball was still in her home. She found it in her cubbyhole, and she saw that it was the seven star ball. “Great...just how many of these things are there?!” she exclaimed. “I have to go to Master Roshi to see if he knows what these things are.” She flew to her former teacher’s home, and landed, scaring the turtle. “Hi Turtle.” she said to it. “Uh..hi Calei...” said Turtle. “Is Master Roshi around?” she asked. “Yeah, he’s over next to the beach” he replied. “Thanks, Turtle” she said. Calei walked over to the beach to see Master Roshi, who was sunning himself, to ask if he knew exactly what those balls were. She tapped him on his shoulder and he jumped about three feet off the ground. “Oh hi Calei!! Didn’t hear ya coming...” he said. “Hi Master Roshi, sorry to startle you, would you by any chance know what these are?” she asked while pulling out the yellow balls. “Well those are the Dragon balls...get all seven together, call up the eternal dragon, and he’ll grant you any one wish..” he said. “Really??” she asked. “Sure...” he replied. “Well, thanks Master Roshi, I gotta go now, bye!” she said as she got ready to fly. “Bye Calei!” said Master Roshi. She flew off to find the other Dragon balls, because she knew that a story like that wouldn’t go unnoticed, and probably some bad men would be after them too. The four Dragon balls were pulsing in their own presence, so she decided to go back home and put three away so she can properly search for the other Dragon balls. She flies fast to her regular home, and she puts all the Dragon balls away except for the seven star ball. She then flies around different parts of the Earth with the Dragon ball seeing if she can track the other three down. After a while, she found another Dragon ball, this time it was the one star Dragon ball. She continued to search, and it was getting a little late. At her old home in Japan, it would be about 10 o’clock PM. At the place where she was, it was about a few minutes before it was dusk. She knew that she should be getting back, but she liked to complete a task as soon as she got it, and finish it as soon as possible. She didn’t notice the large full moon as it slowly rose over the horizon. She scanned in front of her, because the Dragon ball was glowing again. The full moon was directly ahead of her, and she remembered her mother telling her not to look at the full moon, but twice her father told her to, and she didn’t remember anything after that, until the next morning. She stared at the moon and something in her changed. Her pupils changed from green to red, her arms got longer and hairy, as well as her legs and body. Her nose flattened and her jaw stretched, and her whole body grew huge. Her ears grew pointed, and she could hear from miles away. Her eyes lost any white in them and turned completely red. She now stood 50 feet tall, and only this time, she knew what was happening. She had vaguely remembered her father telling her during the second time transforming that all Saiyans changed like this at the full moon, and he had changed as well. During those previous two times of transforming, her father had kept her under control, and he taught her how to stay under control. She walked slowly to find the other Dragon ball, and she noticed a large castle in front of her. She felt bad vibes as she got closer, and she saw that the Dragon ball was in the castle by her seven starred one. “Emperor Pilaf, sir!!” shouts Agent Mai. “Yes, what is it?” asks the little blue imp. “The ground isn’t shaking because of an earthquake, sir, it’s that monster! It’s back!!” she says nervously. “WHAT?!?!” shrieks Emperor Pilaf. “Yes, and we think that it’s going to destroy the castle again!” Agent Shao chimes in. “Let’s get out of here!!!” exclaims Emperor Pilaf. Shao and Mai agree quickly and they leave the castle, so they don’t get crushed. “OH NO!!!” “What?!?” asks Shao and Mai at the same time. “I LEFT THE DRAGON BALL INSIDE THE CASTLE!!!” wails Pilaf. “We must go back!!” “What?!?” they repeat. They aren’t too happy at the prospect of turning into a pancake, as they almost did when they captured those kids with all the Dragon balls, and one changed into a giant ape. Meanwhile, Calei in the form called Oozaru, goes to the castle to get the Dragon ball. Unfortunately for Pilaf, the Dragon ball is in the center of the complex, and Calei happily smashes it apart. She grabs the two starred Dragon ball, and leaves, just as Pilaf and his agents are on the way back. Calei flies away from the destroyed castle faster than the two agents and their emperor could catch her in their capsule car. The backlash of wind causes Emperor Pilaf’s capsule car to crash on the desert floor. “GET UP AND GO AFTER IT!!” shouted Pilaf. “We’re not deaf!” muttered Shao, as he and Mai open the doors of the now upside-down capsule car. “But now we are!” Mai mutters. “SHUT UP YOU FOOLS AND FIX THE CAR BEFORE IT GETS AWAY!!” shouted Pilaf, hurting their ears even more. They scrambled out and righted the car, then they got back in and started the chase. The monster was nowhere in sight, so Mai pushes a red button on the dashboard that is labeled ‘TRACKER’. Instantly, a small screen, which is next to the red button, lights up and an arrow points towards where the monster was going. Mai knows that this has to be the monster because the solid yellow circle was moving very fast across the screen. Mai speeds up so the Dragon ball doesn’t get out of range, because the Tracker can trace the Dragon balls only so far. “BUCKLE UP!!” she shouts over the hum of the engine. As soon as she said that, she stomped on the gas, and the little air car went fast enough to keep Calei on the screen. “AHHHHH” cried Pilaf and Shao, in unison. “They don’t ever listen” Mai mutters. Meanwhile, Calei is nearing America, flying fairly slow, and she sees that the sun is up. Her body does a rapid change, and she notices that her clothes are gone. She pauses, hovering, and makes her instant clothes. She sighs in relief, because she wasn’t seen. She’s tired from flying so much in Oozaru form, so she decides to speed up and go home. Mai notices that the figure has stopped, and then it sped off of the screen. “Oh no” she thought. She knows that she might get killed for losing the Dragon ball, so she floors it, causing the air car to go so fast that it was unsteady. Two minutes later, there is still no sign of the monster or Dragon ball. She knows that she must tell Pilaf what happened. “Emperor Pilaf, sir...” Mai starts. “WHAT IS IT?!?” he bellows. “The monster and the Dragon ball are off the screen...” she says. “WHAAAAAAAATTTT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!” he shouts. Mai and Shao wince. “I’m sorry, sir, but it went too fast....” she said. “FIND IT IF IT IS THE LAST THING YOU DO!!!!!!!!” he screams. “Right sir...” Mai and Shao say humbly. Calei sets her Dragon ball with the others and she feels very hungry, so she makes her instant food. She devours it in five minutes. “Ahhhh....much better now” she said. “Now time to go to sleep...YAAAWN..” She hovers toward her room, rubbing her eyes. She falls asleep as soon as she touches the bed, but she saw her clock first. It said that it was 3:57PM, a different time than Japan.
