Subject: FWD: GT Leveling Rules From: Ahmed Elshamy Hey Matt, How are you? Hope everything is going well. I was just wondering what you think about the new GT series coming out for the CCG and what you think about all the changes? Also I wanted to ask you about the no "anger" thing?? >From what I understand we have to remove the top ten cards from our >discard pile to lvl our personality up one lvl. If so, most of the cards I have in my red deck and other decks for that matter are useless. Most of the cards in my red deck raises my anger, even my mastery. Red is all about raising anger, so what's going to happen to it now? What do you think about all this, and what's the best way to make this work for us? Thanks again for all your info and help. :) Ahmed P.S. Sorry, I keep on losing your email :( *************** Well if you look hard enough my email address is on Pojo at the bottom of my page. As for me... I'm just going insane. Lots of things have been happening, good and bad. I don't want to get you worried so let's just say bad things already happened, but Portland is two weeks away. No anger means there are no anger victories in Focused. It allows for more interesting decks because the popular "slime anger" was easily shutdown with the introduction of Victorious Drill, as well as people teching for the straight out anger win. What this means is decks that just want to get better personality powers, not win by anger, will be able to be playable. Many characters with only levels 1-3 were not playable simply because of the fear of another 1-3 deck winning by anger. Focused shuts that down. This also means anger will probably not get very many support cards in the future. It also means anti-anger will be next to non-existant as well. Anger can grow or diminish in Expanded by other support cards that could indirectly give anger like card advantage. You do know you can still win by anger in Expanded. Score's not stupid enough to retire an entire win condition in its natural habitat. At the beginning of the game you get to decide to level the Z way or GT way. Also I believe you remove any 10 cards in your discard pile to level. In Focused, Namekian was removed due to Piccolo not doing enough stuff. Hence, since anger was removed, Red now does a lot of what Namekian did. And thus... I don't see why you are concerned. Anger is still there. Don't expect many support cards for anger though, but there always can be a promo or something that can come around and help Red anger out. Most of the other changes are interesting and will take a while to get used to. The Android 18 rule makes DB extremely strong, but also makes a lot of other decks somewhat playable, as soon as DB is somewhat tamed. The Black Smoothness Drill rule is also interesting as well as it can easily make or break many games, depending what you hold or don't hold. The new ally rule is stupid, don't get me started. I could rant all day on that, as I did when I found out. Backers are interesting. Most of the rules are pretty nice and welcomed. I look forward to Portland for a nice taste of GT. Have fun. GT will be great. I know it. -- matthewlow@franceslow.com "You will not be allowed to do this to anyone else!" - Gohan -- --
