Oh now this is SOOPER gimmicky. On attack, you can lose all your soul to give him 5k for each one until end of battle. And on the turn you ride him on top of a Grade 3, he gains a skill: after attacking, Counterblast 2 and absorb 4 of your rear-guards to the soul to stand him.

I said that this was super gimmicky, let me explain. You can infinitely loop this with Miracle Pop Eva, certain Cray Elementals, and many other cards in succession rendering the combo so difficult it isn't worth the risk or effort. Aside from that, in a vacuum,  I'm not entirely sold. Having to -4 to restand is fair enough, that's Raging Form levels of cost and that's not an excuse to not run him, but having to -1 to ride again, then have him be the one to attack last so PGs are his Achilles Heel just for that seems a bit much.

Would actually have some slight merit if Pale Moon's G-Units weren't heavily biased towards Magia. Break Ride era would have loved this card. Too late now.

Okay, so before we get to the review, read this

Got all that? Good

On its own, Gun Salute Dragon isn't all that interesting; A restanding Vanguard that goes from Big to Slightly Less Big is nice, but only as a last resort in most decks. However, with the above loop in place you literally attack until either the opponent dies or you deck out. The fact that we can even do this in Vanguard now is hilarious, at least to me. By all means it is in no way consistent, and against handtrap strategies it's all but useless, but if you pull it off your opponent will be super nettled. Or at least confused

1.5/5, unless you pull off the loop. then Phantom Blaster Diablo/5
