Metapulsar, Split Pegasus

Well, nice to see something that's a bit less fuss. Split Pegasus, when face-up in the G-Zone during your turn, gives all your Zodiac Time Beasts in the front row 1000 power. His second skill is ACT and counterblasts 1 and flips a card in the G Zone face-up, sending a rear-guard to the bottom of the deck to call 2 Zodiac Time Beasts from the deck a Grade lower than the one you returned...as long as your heart card is a Zodiac Time Beast.

...eh, it's alright. Obviously not meant to be anything other than external setup for ZTB, whether it's 2k to the front row flipping himself, or flipping other Gear Dragons for a next-turn Gear Groovy. My beef is more to do with how running a pure ZTB deck just isn't appealing because there really isn't anything worth using over the established Melem/Time Leap strategy, because I'm sorry, but you must admit their front-row options are pretty lacking.

Nonetheless, it's worth getting if only so that it may age well, but not worth running over Metallica Phoenix, who's more forgiving over what your heart card is, frankly.

Alright, imma start off with the positives. Split Pegasus stacks of course, so you can get at maximum an extra 4k to your ZTBs in the front row if you're running four Pegasus for some reason. Also, you could just flip over Pegasus by any other means (like Metallica Phoenix) and start getting the continuous buff. ZTBs themselves get buffs, so the stacking numbers could force 5k more shield from the columns if you get the right units out. Taking one unit and turning it into two is very Paladin-esque and should ensure that you have your board as optimal as you can get it.

Now, the negatives aren't even contained within Pegasus' design. It's the fact that currently MelemTickTock.dek has a more devastating first Stride turn with Metallica Phoenix than ChronojetZTB.dek or ChronofangZTB.dek does with Pegasus.

...but whatever. Y'all got on-hit restanding Vanguard pressure from rearguards now, and a dope ZTB PG. Do whatever you want.

And yes, I'm willing to put my foot in my mouth if/when ZTBs start getting support that's more effective than Tick Tock and Melem.

3/5
