- #G-CHB02/007EN Reviewed: April 6, 2017

Burst-[AUTO](RC) Generation Break 3:When your vanguard attacks, if your vanguard's [Power] is 30000 or greater, until end of turn, this unit gets [Power]+4000, and if your vanguard's [Power] is 60000 or greater, this unit gets [Critical]+1. [AUTO](VC):At the beginning of your ride phase, if the number of cards in your hand is two or less, until end of turn, you may Stride without paying the cost the next time you Stride. [AUTO](VC):[Counter Blast (1)] When your G unit Stride during your turn, choose one of your vanguards, and it gets [Power]+4000 until end of turn. If that unit has the burst ability, you may pay the cost. If you do, that unit gets [Power]+4000 until end of turn.

I would say this one was the one that got the best retraining. New Grandgallop's GB3 Burst kicks in when he's on RG circle and the Vanguard attacks: if the Vanguard attacks with 30k power, he gains 4k power, and if the Vanguard has 60k power, Grandgallop gains +1 Critical. That's great, but the second skill's the main draw: it lets you Stride without paying the cost, as long as your hand has two or fewer cards. Holy buggering shit. His On-Stride skil? 4k power to the Vanguard, but if the G-Unit you Stride into has Burst, Counterblast 1 for another 4k power.

The GB3 is going to be unrealistic without the aid of a very late X-Tiger, because there really is no way to realistically generate a 60k power Vanguard as a second Stride. which kind of sucks. So basically the main draw is the Stride bypasser: and I know I joked earlier about how nuts that is, but realistically? You would have to be in a really bad way before this clutch skill allows you to do anything, as in consecutive guarding or ultra-sack level bad. So his on-Stride skill has the most relevance, turning a Commander Laurel D into 23k body all by itself so that one RG can kiss the 25k threshold...so basically, easing your rear-guard's cost eating to make the Vanguard strong enough to get any Burst skills actually online.

Not amazing but is good for clutch situations and lets you commit to a board reasonably guilt-free.

3/5
