Chronodragon Gear Groovy

Well, no fucking shit, Gear Chronicle still hasn't left us, like a bad case of thrush. On that note, here is a card that is functionally good I guess but requires that the player have shelled out cash for several Generation Rare cards because why the fuck not. So let's just make the finished product as beginner unfriendly as possible, shall we? Monetary issues and desires to play anti-Stride out of protest aside, Gear Groovy once you've used up a Nextage and a Chronoscommand is a good finisher. I don't think there's anything else that's interesting about him unless they release an on-attack AUTO that can replace drop zones with decks or some shit, so fuck it. Next card.

[Chronodragon Gear Groovy]

Melem honestly could have taken this spot, but Gear Groovy made this list because he is the icon of Gears. He is the icon that reminds players just have far Gears have come, and how much Bushiroad loves Gears at the moment.

Gears started off as a cute and refreshing aesthetic. Steampunk gets a lot of the playerbase off, and the appeal is quite obvious. They had a bounce mechanic that annoyed the all the Legion decks running around at the time, and they had a few Silent Tom-esque cards at their disposal in an age without G-Guards. Then they start getting toolbox options like Faterider and Epoch and a restanding finisher with Nextage.

Then, the Time Leap mechanic came and defined Gears's playstyle: a soft advantage generating deck with mild control and many combos and avenues to achieve this. So, when it came time to give Gears their own clan booster, what was left for Chronojet.dek to get in their stride zone that they couldn't already do? Give 'em a card that continued letting Chronojet do whatever the hell it wanted. Neo Nectar became good at copying names, but no clan can combine the best aspects of its Stride Zone like Chronojet can right now. On paper, being Final  Form Nextage seems simplistic, but in practice he's a wet dream.

Like I said above, Gear Groovy is an icon that reminds people Chronojet.dek can do whatever the hell it wants sans automatically slamming you for a damage or retiring units, cause then Kagero would be truly out of business. And that's why it's made the 4th spot on this year's list.
