Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster "Diablo"

Winston wanted to put Obtirandus as the number five card, but what the fuck does he know, he wasn't even there to review it when I did, the scrublord. So instead here's what I believe to be a considerably less controversial choice because it's nearly Christmas and even I need to hold the bile every so often. Spectral Motherfucking Diablo's baller, because the important part of him is generic enough that other decks can use him, but for the deck he's supposed to be in he's got enough support that he's probably the most efficient re-standers we've got. I await the day Luard gets a Charon clone of his own just to get the tears flowing. Whether they're joy tears or otherwise depends on how quickly you jumped on the Shadows hype train.

[Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster Diablo]

You'd think Spectral Blaster Diablo would be a run-of-the mill card, not really fitting a Top 10 list cause he's just a restander. But this Blaster Diablo did a very important thing for Shadow players: by being a restander, it meant people could stop bloody trying to accommodate the Abyss legion in their deckbuild to have a restanding turn. You don't know how much it frustrated me to watch as people tried to mesh the Gen Break support with the Abyss legion, and just because it saw mild success, the combination was "validated." Lord knows if Spectral Blaster Diablo didn't exist, people would be trying to run Abyss/Luard...eww. Of course, Spectral Diablo has a superior call effect if you're running a Diablo-centric build, but Claret Sword and Luard have superior call effects anyway, so Spectral's superior call isn't integral to his usefulness.

Every Shadow deck has the potential to restand now, and if you look at Shadow decks that topped events, the Abyss legion fell out of favor because of this. Legion for the most part is overshadowed by Stride, since both mechanics require both players to be sitting at Grade 3. (Shut up Blackboi, you're your own special little snowflake.)

For breaking people out of the illusion that you're supposed to mix Revengers and Gen Break support and fixing Shadow players' deckbuilds for them, Spectral Blaster Diablo earns the 5th spot on this year's list.
