Duo Lovely Devil, Vepar

- #G-CB01/015EN

Date Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2015

[AUTO]:[Counter Blast (1)] When this unit is returned to your hand from (RC), if your vanguard is Legion, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one of your other units, search your deck for up to one card with the same card name as that unit, reveal it to your opponent, put it into your hand, and shuffle your deck. Then, you may choose up to three cards with the same name as a unit on your (VC) from your hand, and reveal them. If you reveal three cards, Counter Charge (1).

Duo Lovely Devil, Vepar

Nemuel's partner in the black. When a unit is bounced while you Vanguard is in Legion, she Counterblasts 1 to select a different rear-guard and add a copy of that unit to the hand. And as always, you can also reveal three of that unit to Countercharge 1.

Works as a decent tank option. There really isn't much interesting to say about her until then though.

I'm sorry I'm ending this week on a fucking weak note, but I didn't pick the cards this time.

Duo Lovely Devil, Vepar

The mate of Numel.  The only reason I didn't talk about her yesterday was because we're reviewing her today.

Basically the exact same skill as Numel's legion ability, just that she has to choose a different unit that's in play and get one copy of it from the deck to the hand, then she reveals 3 copies of a unit in the Vanguard circle to Counter-Charge 1.

Seems pretty decent, over-all.

See you next week, folks.

Trixie

Hello Pojo, I'm Trixie, and this is my first review for Card of The Day. Nice to meet you all.

Today's card is Nemuel's mate, Vepar. When she's bounced while your VG is in Legion, CB1 to add a copy of any unit you have on the field. Then, if you have 3 copies of your VC in your hand (as in, any combo of the Leader or the Mate), you can CC1.

This obviously has great synergy with Nemuel. You can bounce it with Nemuel and set up for bounces + searches the next turn, or bounce with another card like Darling to set up the free plusses on the very turn you Legion. You pretty much only need to bounce it once to set-up the CC, but it's important to be able to abuse PG searching and deck thinning. Even if one of your Vepars is in the damage zone, you can just target the Nemuel on your VC with Vepar's skill to still get Nemuel's CC2 off.

This Legion pair has great value for an R rarity (I could even call it the best R Legion so far). The issues would that Vepar is vanilla while Striding and that the deck generally lack of finishing power (unless you run Reit as a backup, but even she's not that great when not break-ridden), but constant pressure from Rhone and Kazuha, stacking powerups on Minamo, and multi-attacks with Olyvia help mitigate this. Overall, Vepar is an important mate for a good defensive Legion.

Rating: 3.5/5
Art: 4/5 I enjoy the switched Devil and Angel shtick
Card Design: 2/5 Don't really like how it can be made free for what is basically a continuous condition
