What's up, Rogue Squad?! For today's card of the day, we're going to be looking at the newest Sentinel: the Quintet Wall...

Summoning Jewel Knight, Gloria
Power: 6000
Grade 1
Clan: Royal Paladin
Race: Giant.......huh...
[CONT]: Sentinel (You may only have up to four cards with "[CONT]: Sentinel" in a deck)
[AUTO]:[Counter Blast (1)] When this is placed on (GC) from hand, if you have a «Royal Paladin» vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, reveal five cards from the top of your deck. Call all «Royal Paladin» to (GC) at [Rest] from among them, and put the rest into your drop zone.

...so the big debate about this is that which one is better; Perfect Guards or Quintet Walls? Each definitely has their pros and cons and is definitely based off of player preference for the most part though personally, I can definitely see certain clans utilize Quintet Walls over Perfect Guards like Musketeers or Granblue (ohhhhhh God I can't wait to review Set 17...), but in Gloria's case, this really is where player preference comes in as she's really only good in the Ashlei variant as if you end up sending copies of Ashlei to the Drop Zone, you can use Alwain to recycle them.

Quintet Walls won't be as used for the next few months, but once the US is introduced to Legion, then I think that people will be eyeing this card even more.

Rating: 2.5/5 (this will increase when the aforementioned new mechanic is introduced)
Art: 3/5
Next Time: The final RR of the set that the others haven't reviewed...I'm not counting myself because I prefer relaxing on vacations every so often. XP

Summoning Jewel Knight, Gloria

Right, here we go. Something new. Gloria is the first among the new Sentinel units, known as Quintet Walls. That is, if you guard with her from the hand, Counterblast 1 and then the top 5 cards of your deck are used to guard for that battle.

RULING: If something like Dragonic Kaiser Vermillion is attacking more than one thing at once, the cards used to defend can be split among the attacked units as you like.

I'd better make this a blanket review for Quintet Walls in general. These are no substitutes for Perfect Guards unless you're dirt poor. Here's why:

1. Average shield generated is 25k. That's enough to wall any Vanguard that's 26k attacking for 2 to pass. Any higher and then you'll have to spend more from the hand. At least a Perfect Guard will block almost anything guaranteed.

2. They cost CB1 each to use, which encroaches on the costs needed for your offensive plays.

3. They're Sentinels so for every one you use, you're forgoing one of your PGs. No, I don't care about the abundance of re-standers, they won't do better than PGs if the standard deviation takes you below the power they normally swing for.

Quintets only have a place in decks where PGs eat up too much advantage is a G1 rush deck like hipster Aqua Force or Spike Brothers. They won't be as good as you think anywhere else.

Summoning Jewel Knight, Gloria

Meet your new Sentinel, not quite the same as the old Sentinel, but still has the "only 4 Sentinels per deck" restriction.

This particular brand of Sentinel is called a Quintent Wall. As of this set, Royal Paladin, Gold Paladin, Genesis, Murakumo and Neo Nectar all got one, the effect is exactly the same, just change the clan name where appropriate.

For a Counter Blast of 1, you call the top five cards to the Guardian Circle, provided that they're all Royal Paladins (though, why you wouldn't run all Royals, I have no clue), to stop an attack.

Two things to note here.

1: You can add more cards from your hand if you feel that you don't have enough shield to stop the attack.
2: If you get a Perfect Guard off of this, you can discard a card to activate it to nullify an attack.

Are Quintent Walls as good as Perfect Guards?

No.

However, there will be plenty of times that you could be holding 3 sentinels and 2 non-sentinels and wishing you could discard a 3rd card for the 3rd Sentinel.

As of right now, this card isn't too great, Perfect Guards are better and other than Genesis with their card that can take cards from the Guardian Circle and put them into the soul, there's little reason to run this over a Perfect Guard, unless you need a 4th Sentinel.

That being said, that will change in a few months. Keep an eye out for why if you don't already know.

Rating: 3/5 (for now)
Rating: 4.5/5 (in the very near future)
