What's up, you guys?! This week is going to be a short week seeing how our country's birthday is coming up this Thursday, and were going to be taking a long weekend. With that said, what's better than looking at some fireworks? Looking at some Angel Feathers! ...wait...what? Pojo, this script is weird! Anyway, here's the first card:

Crimson Impact, Metatron
Power: 10000
Grade 3
Clan: Angel Feather
Race: Angel...duh!
[ACT](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have four or more damage):[Counter Blast (1) & Choose two of your «Angel Feather» rear-guards, and put them into your damage zone] Choose two face up «Angel Feather» from your damage zone, and call them to (RC). This ability cannot be used for the rest of that turn.
[AUTO](VC): When this unit attacks a vanguard, this unit gets [Power]+3000 until the end of that battle.

Okay, so one thing we need to note before I review the actual card is the support that comes with her. Metatron has one common thing with Ezel, and that is that she has a way to Superior Ride! Using the new starter in Nahas with Baruch and Aphrodite can get her as Vanguard at Turn 2. That right there can cause a nice card advantage if done correctly. Anyway, more on Metatron herself. When she attacks the opposing Vanguard, she's already going to be at 13,000, which is enough to force a Crossride unit to guard her attack, and combined with the right booster, they might be guarding with more than they'd like. The one thing that makes Metatron so interesting though is her Limit Break. You Counterblast 1 and put 2 of your rear-guards to the Damage Zone to call any 2 from your Damage Zone to the rear-guard. In short, this can modify your field's attack formation by making your Damage Zone an extension of your hand. Also, if you have a Fever Therapy Nurse (the new Draw Trigger), Baruch or Aphrodite, you can use the Limit Break to your advantage by putting them to the Damage Zone to call out 2 different Angel Feathers to your field, and it'll allow the cards you sent to the Damage Zone to activate there which can cause a nice power increase. Also, the Pegasus units gain a 4,000 boost if they're on the field when the Limit Break is going off, so it'll make Metatron more viable. The only downside is that Metatron is a 10,000 power unit, and unfortunately, that's not really a number to be in a Crossride meta that we are in now, but the skills can help balance out if done correctly.

Rating: 4.5/5 (If it was 11,000, I'd give it a 5 hands down)
Art: 4/5 (Definitely one of the better looking arts I've seen as of late)
Next Time: Thanatos if he was an Angel...

Crimson Impact, Metatron

Metatron is the latest attempt of Angel Feathers trying to claw their way into the metagame. Sporting a usable limit break and an inherent boost skill, on her own, she very well could be equipped to make it happen.

Her limit break is simple; counterblast one, then swap two rear guards with two Angel Feathers in your damage zone. You can even grab back the same two units, or just one and something else. Why is this good? Sometimes you find that you lose an important unit to damage, so this is a good way to get that unit back into the game. Also, some of Angel Feather’s most important units gain power when cards move into the damage zone. This means that Thousand and Million Ray Pegasus become 11k and 13k respectively each time you use the limit break. That’s some solid power, given that all you’re using is a single counterblast. Speaking of power, Metatron gains 3k just by attacking a vanguard. Backed by an 8k or Pegasus, she can threaten most vanguards even without a limit break.

One of the biggest draws of Metatron, I think, revolves around her mini-archtype of Crimson units. Much like Ezel, if you have the grade zero and grade one rear guards out, and your vanguard is the grade two, you can ride Metatron straight from the deck. Getting to grade three on your second turn is a very potent ability, and having the twin drive a turn earlier means the superior ride doesn’t even cost you any card presence.

Rating: 5/5 – Adds some flare and speed to a lesser used clan.
