His effect is interesting in that he was the first guardian that let multiples of the same character into play, and currently the only guardian that actually gives them Non-Unique. While this seems to give a lot of potential, his win condition is pretty hard to do – deck out your opponent. In a game with 60 card decks, that’s a lot of damage you’d have to push out. Not to mention the fact that there are powerful events like Dark Ritual that would normally have actual drawbacks involving your life. But since making your life go down isn’t Mayuri’s goal, your opponent can use those cards with no consequence. These things and many more, such as Mysterious Opponents being a huge bomb to drop on Mayuri, make him not too great a choice. Competitive – 2/5 – He doesn’t have much potential here, especially not now. Casual – 3/5 – There’s less huge drawbacks here, but still plenty of small ones. Art – 1/5 - Lol? Wednesday – A giant yellow baby!
