1) YU-GI-OH: This is an anime about a group of friends and their friendship lasting over 3000 thousand years. As well as their nemesis, whose hatred followed for over 300 thousands years as well. The monster designs are cool, and the card game is just pure genius. 2) Hunter X Hunter: The fighting scenes are very cool, and each character has unique personality. Another great work from the mangaka of the popular anime work - Yu yu hakusho, only better. 3) Senkaiden Houshin Engi - the paopei (weapon) designs are purely innovative. Taikoubou is one of my favourite characters - he acts as though he's a loser and an idiot but deep inside he is cunning and always plans ahead. A modern sci-fi anime based on ancient chinese legend - what a twist! Excellent job by Fujisaki sensei. 4) Hikaru no Go (not sure if there's an anime for this): The character designs are good, and this is about character development, how Hikaru changed from not interested in Go to totally devoted to playing Go. 5) Meitantei Conan: Has to be the best detective manga - even better than Kindaichi Shonen Jikenbou. The characters are funny, and the mysteries are very unique. A great overall story. The opening themes and the ending themes have some of my favourties. 6) Pokemon: This really got me into anime. The stories are funny and the characters designs are pretty good. The movies excels any episode. Althought the anime tends to get repetitiv in the story it is still good. 7) Rurouni Kenshin: Although the anime didn't have my favourite story arc (the revenge arc), the opening theme are also good .The fighting scenes are great. Each character has their own unique personality - especially Saitou Hajime. 8) Great Teacher Onizuka: Very intriguing. Reflects the darkness of modern schools and how teachers treat under-achieving students. Subtly suggests to us how teaching should be done. Story is often funny and the characters are unique. 9) Card Captor Sakura: The characters are funny, and has a pretty good story. A good anime even though it had been slightly edited from the manga. Kero-chan is especially cute. 10) Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohko: A good anime which teaches friendship and teamwork. The storyline got a bit gloomy towards the end, nevertheless still very exciting. Although slightly confusing at times. By: Eric Yu yu.eric@msa.hinet.net Copyright - Pojo's Anime All rights reserved
