2016 CENTRAL AMERICAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER

& 2016 CENTRAL AMERICAN DRAGON DUEL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER TO BE HELD IN GUADALAJARA, MEXICO

 

Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier for Younger Players

 

El Segundo, Calif. (June 10, 2016) – Central American Duelists – it’s time to Duel! Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) is pleased to announce the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Central American World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) and Central American Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier to be held June 11 – 12 in Guadalajara, Mexico. This ultra-competitive weekend-long tournament gives hundreds of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Duelists from across Central America their chance to qualify for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship this August in Orlando, Florida.  

 

The invitation-only Central American WCQ and Central American Dragon Duel WCQ are the most prestigious Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG tournaments of the year. The first place finisher from the Central American WCQ and Central American Dragon Duel WCQ will be invited to the World Championship to be held in Orlando, Florida on August 20 – 21, 2016. The winners from both WCQs will receive paid travel and accommodations, along with a host of other prizes, and the title of “Central American Champion 2016.” Runners-up will also receive exciting prizes. Everyone in the Main Event will receive a 2016 WCQ Game Mat and 2016 WCQ Card Sleeves as participation prizes.

 

Players who haven’t already qualified for the Central American WCQ or the Central American Dragon Duel WCQ still have a chance to participate during Last Chance Qualifiers. Duelists who have not qualified for the WCQ can play in Last Chance Qualifiers to earn an invite to the WCQ. This event will be held on Friday, June 10 beginning at 12:00 p.m. and end with registration for the last LCQ closing at 5:00 p.m. Dragon Duel LCQ will be scheduled for 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. that same day.

 

Pre-registration for the Central American WCQ will run from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10 and registration will continue promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11.  Players will use their constructed Decks all the way to the Championship.
