Hey all you fellow pojoers out there! It's been about 6 months or so since ive done one of these things. I haven't attended many tourneys for a number of reasons, some of which include the state of the game, but it's mostly for personal reasons. As a heads up, after the report, I will be rambling about the game and what not, so if you feel like reading that, or you are bored, feel free to do that. J Anyway, on to the report!

So me and my brother finally decide to go to a tournament, since it's been since December since (wow, 3 sinces in a row!) we went to a tourney, but I came just to hang out and trade, so my brother told me to bring my E-hero deck, but I didn't want to*remember this*. We got there about 11:50 and walked in and lo and (wow, now three ands) behold, they took out a couple of walls and expanded their gaming area! So me and my brother walked to the back, and found a couple of familiar faces in the forms of Bobby and Brandon, and two new faces in the form of Juan, and a kid who I cant remember his name sorry if your reading this. After greeting and talking about the past couple of weeks, we looked through each other's cards and did some trading. Then, two little kids walked in and sat down. I found out that Bobby wasn't playing, and I decided I would play because they sort of needed the people.  Then a guy I knew named Evan came to play, and a little kid who had a sort of weird E-hero deck that I knew from previous tourneys showed up. Brandon and me dueled before, with him using his Dark World deck, and said he was using it during the tourney. So, sorry for boring you all with that, and now on to the tournament!

Contestants: Me, Steven, Brandon, Juan, Evan, Kid with weird E-Hero deck, two little kids with E-hero decks (d'oh, he told me to bring it!!!), and guy who I cant remember his name.

Round 1 Me vs. Juan

Game one: So I get to face a new face. We rolled the dice and he opted to go first. He placed a masked dragon in face up defense mode. Sounds sort of familiar (read report from April). I reminded him and he said ok. He had a sort of ritual deck, but he needed a little help understanding the ritual cards, so I won games one and two pretty easy.

Between rounds one and two.

Me and Brandon continued talking about starting a team in the Dallas area, for the Shonen Jump held in October I think, so if any of you are from or around the Dallas area, look up Comic Book Craze and come visit us.

Round 2: Me vs. Evan.

So I have to face Evan. To be honest, I didn't know whether to be intimidated or not.

Game one: I won the die roll. I got Breaker, Smashing, Bottomless, Trap Dust shoot, and Berserk. Not bad. Before we start, he says that he doesn't know what to call his deck, because it can "be a beatdown, or a stall" so yeah.

After a couple of turns, he played final countdown. I got to turn 5, and I completely overwhelmed him with a heavy, Phoenix, and Berserk.  I also did the dekoichi/ tsukuyomi combo 3 times!

Game two: He went first. I can't remember every detail, so if you couldn't figure it out, and you like reports that have detail, stop reading here.

I had field presence and hand advantage the whole game. The last two turns went like so: Me 3400 lp  Evan 1700 lp. I have a breaker with token, a scapegoat fd, and a trap dust. fd. I end. Evan says he needs a card, and he draws, and goes "Thank God" and plays Shinato's Ark (my personal favorite looking ritual card). He attacks my breaker, and I decide to take it. I draw nothing. He doesn't either, and attacks thinking he gets the win, but I activate my lil' goats, and he ends his turn. Heart of the cards! I drew meta, and got out thousand eyes, and killed him with my Shinato infested Thousand Eyes. J

Before Round 3: Mike ( the organizer ) comes up with pairings, and it says im in first, so that's good. So I speculate whom I have to duel, and so does Brandon. low and behold..

Round 3. Me vs. Brandon

Game one: Brandon is one of the greatest duelist I have faced. He's cool and never gets mad when he loses, and he understands the game like a pro.

I get the roll, and go first. I get an ok hand, and 3 turns in, I see that, well, he isn't running a Dark world deck, and I go, no Dark world huh? And he replies, "Well, after I lost that game before the tourney. "and laughs.

Well, a long duel later, I overwhelm him with a Phoenix, 2 berserks,  and hand advantage.

Game two: He side decks and I don't. He goes first and seems to be removing a lot, including my Phoenix, with a DDA, and ended up with me losing. Hmm.

Game three: I side deck one Royal Oppression for a soul exchange. Well, this duel was so close, a few good moves my me (thousand eyes dd assailant) and a few good moves by him, (smashing my thousand eyes), but in the end managed to break my snatch stolen monster, and win with a dekoichi!

Like I said, one of the greatest duelist I've met.

Round 4. Me vs. kid with weird E-hero deck.

Games one and two: He didn't get any fusions out, and I only saw a sparkman, 2 claymans, and a burstinatrix.

Results:

1st:Me!

2nd Brandon

3rd I think kid with weird E-Hero deck.

Props: -winning, of course

-Comic Book Craze

-Brandon, and all of the players there

-Brandon again, for pulling a Cyber Twin, just by paying 2 extra bucks

-to all E-hero decks

Slops: Steven for like, not coming in 3rd at least, because he had the same record as kid with E-hero.

-A-kon for not being here fast enough

-Me, for deciding not to attend a tourney for a long time.

And for those of you who actually read this far, a treat.maybe.

I've noticed lately that a lot of people have been using decks that the champions use. Now, im not saying that I've never copied a deck idea, but I've also noticed that people are blasting others for their decks being too CC. Now I know for the most part, people will do whatever they can to win, or to gain power ( for those of you that are Naruto fans, Sasuke is a prime example), but fellow duelist should not jump the gun and start accusing people of net decking, because im sure most of us have done a little bit of it.

First off, to those of you who feel that, or are accused of using cards that are now considered CC, (i.e. Mobius, sakus, and so forth) do not fret. Although many use them now, it took time for others to realize just how good the card is. Im sure at least one other duelist had a form of Soul Control before it became popular. In all of my deck reports, I have had at least 2 Monarchs included in my deck list. I do not include them because everybody does, but because they have a personal meaning for me. I was on the verge of quitting YGO until I read the reports of my personal favorite duelist, RegnR8, who, in my opinion was the pioneer of Monarchs. I did everything I could to possess them. I even built my deck around his. But I realized that I needed to have my own personal flare, and tweaked it and tweaked it, until it suited me.

So if you feel that you are accused of being a victim of CC, but you had the cards to begin with, do not let it bother you, because this is not life, but a game that should be enjoyed by all.
