11/5/05
18 people
4 rounds of Swiss then top 8!  First top 8 we've had thus far!

Alright, the store is finally sanctioned (though there are still no judges, just TOs) and somehow 18 people show up instead of the usual 12-ish.  This means there is a top 8 as well as insane prizes, since we get a booster/$4 in store credit if the manager is there, and otherwise we keep the credit and use it for whatever then the manager's there.  The employees don't like giving out prizes unrelated ot the tourney.

Decklist time:

Monsters (18):
x1 Airknight Parshath
x2 Berserk Gorilla
x1 Breaker the Magical Warrior
x1 Cyber Dragon (since I'e only been able to find one)
x1 D. D. Assailant
x1 D. D. Warrior Lady
x1 Enraged Battle Ox
x1 Exiled Force
x1 Goblin Elite Attack Force
x1 Kaiser Glider (busted tech)
x1 Morphing Jar
x1 Roulette Barrel (busted tech #2)
x1 Sangan
x2 Slate Warrior
x1 Tsukuyomi
x1 Twin-Headed Behemoth

Traps (9):
x1 Bottomless Trap Hole
x1 Call of the Haunted
x3 Dust Tornado
x3 Sakuretsu Armor
x1 Torrential Tribute

Spells (13):
x1 Book of Moon
x1 Card Destruction (tech for now until I get a Brain Control)
x1 Confiscation
x1 Dark Hole
x1 Heavy Storm
x1 Mystical Space Typhoon
x1 Nobleman of Crossout
x1 Premature Burial
x1 Scapegoat
x2 Smashing ground
x1 Snatch Steal
x1 Swords of Revealing Light

Kaiser Glider is simply insane against the Jinzos and monarchs out there, and seeing as how my toughest competition is against my brothers Soul Control deck and against my friends who still run Jinzo, it seems quite obvious.  Roulette Barrel is simply insane, dunno why it isn't a staple.  Card Destruction is just random tech since alot of people run warrior builds that hold answers to everything, though its there only til I get a Brain Control.

Round 1 vs. Devin
This kid stole my deck after the tourney, though I got it back the next week.  Nothing to report here, he wasn't a challenge in the least.  This tourney is always 70% or more n00bs.

Round 2 vs. Cody w/ Soul Control
Lost 0-2 here, first game I got lucksacked, second I made a mistake of not using MY Body as a Shield which I sided in when he Dark Holed 2 of my monsters.

Round 3 vs. Steve aka "Pedro" w/ Random Burn
One of those burn guys that always sends Wave Motion Cannon too early and can't draw a god hand to win with.  2-0 here.

Round 4 vs. Eric w/ Horus control
Went 2-1 here.  Lost the first game because he got LV8 out and I didn't draw a trap and already used Exiled, seocnd game he kept attacking into Sak armors so I won, third he got out LV6 and kept it out cuz I only drew one sak armor, somehow won.

I went 2-2 losing to the only 4-0 (my brother as always) and a 3-1 (Eric) who only lost to Cody.  I got in since there were only four 3-1's and this three spots for 2-2's.

Quarterfinals vs. Travis w/ Toolbox Beats
Crazy guy that doesn't run Dark Hole cuz he tries flooding the field.  Went 2-0 here, last game I won because I got him down to one in hand and used a sided Penguin Soldier like 3 times ot keep his facedown off the field.  Slate Warriors beat him to death.

Semis vs. Fluffy w/ Toolbox Beastdown
Other main guy here, and just fyi I run with this guy, Cody, Eric, and Pedro.  Beat him 2-0 because I drew answers to anything he had, though honestly I lose 1-2 a majority of the time since he has Widespreads aka 5 Sakuretsu Armor.

Finals vs. Cody
We split everything down the middle, though for the ratings part I was considered the winner.  We each got 9 stamps for our card (20 = $10 store credit) and 9 packs in credit.  I got a Nightmare Before Christmas starter and 5 boosters of it, my bro wanted to get an MC2 but they were out so he ended up spending it on somethin else.

Props
-Me for getting to the finals and rolling for the win as far as ratings go.
-Completing my deck for the most part, getting everything dirt cheap as I always do
-Me for trading a ton of janky MTG stuff for awesome YGO stuff worth around 4x as much.
-Winning 4 packs in the Nightmare Before Christmas tourney.
-The US government for paying me to go to college, thus I don't have to get a job as long as I don't move out of the house.

Slops
-Losing my deck for a week, and for that kid trying to play it cool before he just gave everything back and gave me some extra cards for the trouble
-Still missing a holo Dark Hole, Confiscation, and Torrential before my deck is all holos instead of common versions
