backup special sweeper I guess... but I'm looking for
someone else to
replace Wigglytuff instead... any suggestions? I was
thinking of
using Starmie (better special attack + speed, but lacks HP)
or Regice
(better special attack + special defense, but lacks in
speed)
or should I use a baton passer/tank?
so far... I could only get to around 59 wins... need a lot
more to go

One suggestion would be to run a better special sweeper or
something else besides wigglytuff. Blissey would work well,
as well as help you survive by healing your Pokémon. Try:
If you want to simplify the EVs, do 255 Def / 255 SDef.
For Salamence, If he's going to have Choice Band, you should
use a more Physical Set. Try:
Salamence (M) @ Choice Band
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SAtk
Trait: Intimidate
Jolly Nature
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power: Flying / Aerial Ace
Pretty much any speed/attack increasing nature would work,
though.
Gyarados really doesn't have the Special Attack to be a
special sweeper. Tauntrados usually works. I'm not sure for
Battle Tower, but it should work.
Gyarados (M/F) @ Lum Berry
EVs: Make sure it has 198 Speed. Put the rest in attack and
HP.
Trait: Intimidate
Adamant / Jolly Nature.
- Taunt
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power: Flying / Return
That should help. Battle Tower, however is just a big game
of prediction. Try to predict what your opponent is going to
do and switch in or use the move you need to counter it. If
you think your opponent is going to Thunderbolt your
Gyarados, switch in Blissey. If They're going to Thunder
Wave you or use Toxic or something, Taunt and then Dragon
Dance up so you can do heavy damage.
