I'm getting tired of hearing of how pointless Aipom is since it has low HP.
I've figured out a way to break the card!!!
Haven't you ever heard of
a Trainer card called Lt. Surge? It and Aipom work very well together as a
surprise tactic for your opponent. Let's say your Item Finder, Nightly Garbage
Run, Rocket's Sneak Attack, etc. was in the discard pile. Your Poke'mon can't
retreat and you don't have any other way of avoiding its demise against your
opponent unless you make a tactical move. You haven't attached an Energy card
to your Poke'mon. In your hand, you have an Aipom, a Basic Energy card, and
Lt. Surge. This hand seems useless, but it actually can keep your Poke'mon
around. You play Lt. Surge, which gives you a free retreat, and then lets you
play a Basic from your hand. Play the Aipom, attach your Energy, and then
Pilfer the Defending Poke'mon, Aipom, and your valuable Trainer back to your
deck. Next, unleash a Poke'mon who can fight without having to worry about
getting beat and fight the new Defending Poke'mon. Or better yet, hope your
opponent has no Poke'mon! This move can win you the game if that's the case!
