This will be my first article if published.  I am the neomaster with a Togepi who isn't yet
here.  This is my opinion about the Top 10 made be Steve Guthrie.  His words are black.
Mine are blue.  I am sorry if I bash his article too much, I know it's his personal opinion,
but it could be fixed.  At the end, I'll give my personal lists.

10. Sabrina's Haunter (Gym Heroes)
Comments: Sabrina's Haunter has no retreat, no weakness, fighting resistance, and an
attack, Night Spirits, which can be really solid.  No reason why this one shouldn't be
where it is.
Rating: 6.5
My Rating: 4.0

Sabrina's Haunter?  I don't know the Heroes exact translation, but the Challenge one, from
what I here, seems better.  Twenty damage and auto sleep for PP.

9. Electabuzz
Comments: I dislike haymaker Pokemon (or as I like to call them, GAYmaker pokemon),
but 'Buzz is okay, and 'Chan is great.  Thunderpunch isn't bad with the 70HP, but the
double retreat is bad.  He's a solid attacker and a bad retreater.
Rating: 6.7
My Rating: 8.5

I also dislike most haymaker PKMN.  Still, I do think 'Buzz should be higher.  Solid
attacker & bad retreater?  A fully loaded 'Buzz shouldn't have that problem.  His retreat is
only 2 (I think).

8. Misty's Golduck
Comments: I love Electrobeam.  Even if you have to discard Energy cards with it.  Attach
a water energy and a psychic energy to power both attacks at once, and then fire away.
Wonderful Pokemon.
Rating: 7.3
My Rating: 5.9

I used to like this particular Golduck, too.  I quickly found that he's too easy to beat.  I
mean grass weakness?  A hit or two from Scyther would easily kill him.

7. Dark Blastoise
Comments: In a Rain Dance deck (my favorite deck), Rain Dance the four water energy
cards here and KO the hay Pokemon each in one hit.  I love this Pokemon
Rating: 7.6
My Rating: 6.0

Stage 2 with 70HP.  I say dump him right there and then.  Nuff said.

6. Dark Raichu
Comments: Surprise Thunder is great.  One heads for 10 each to your opponent's bench,
and if you're really lucky, two heads for 20 each to your opponent's bench.  70HP and a
low retreat are good too.
Rating 7.8
My Rating: ? (Don't know translation)

Two flips for 20 to each bench is too risky.  Just get Dugtrio.

5. Dark Wartortle
Comments: Doubleslap kinda sucks, but I love Mirror Shell.  It protects the wimpy 60HP
and weakness to lightning, making Dark Wartortle a solid Pokemon.
Rating: 8.1
My Rating:  2.0

You said one word that makes everyone figure why my rating is better.  60HP.  Dark
Wartortle can be summed up in one word.  Dumper!  The only reason to use D. Wartortle
is if the other player(s) have multiple prizes and you 1 and knocking you out would knock
them out and you need to load your bench.  Still, he's not good.

4.  Hitmonchan
Comments: In my definat opinion, he's the only solid hay Pokemon.  Jab for a first turn 20
(40 to a Jiggly or Clefairy), and Special Punch is solid too.  Bad retreat cost, but he's a
wrecking ball until death.
Rating: 8.5
My Rating: 7.0

Two retreat is ok.  On the same note, instant Wiggly Killer.  Too many fighting resistant
PKMN, though.  Also, it isn't the only solid hay Poke.  Not good enough for Top 5.

3. Gengar
Comments: Gengar has been a favorite of mine for quite a while now.  Curse is great and
Dark Mind is wonderful.  Excellent bench killer.
Rating: 9.5
My Rating: 7.8

I agree about Dark Mind and Curse, but not that much.  Gengar is "so last year."  Ever
hear of  Transparent Walls?  Damage Swap?  Curse is nothin' against an Alakazam deck
with an active Chansey and 2-3 Chanseys on the bench.  I know, I know, Transparent
Walls and Alakazam decks are now rare, but they would easily beat Gengar.  Sabrina did a
much better job with Gengar.

2. Squirtle (Team Rocket)
Comments: Why Squirtle?  'Cause he's broken!  Think about it.  One retreat is solid, 50HP
and an all colorless Shell Attack.  He's fits into pretty much any deck (I even used him as a
starting Pokemon in my Alakazam deck once), and he works really well with a first turn
Lass and DCE.  I simply love this Pokemon!
Rating: 9.6
My Rating: 3.0

Squirtle??????  Broken?????  I agree, one retreat is solid, but 50HP and 20-for-2 aren't.  If
you want broken, take Scyther for example.  70HP, FREE retreat, second-turn-60, and
fighting resistance.  How does Lass work really well with Squirtle?

1. Blastoise
Comments: Why on earth would anyone ask me for a reasn of why I think Blastoise is the
game's best Pokemon?  Rain Dance is totally broken, and Hydro Pump is wonderful.  Not
to mention, a full 100HP and this guy's really the best Pokemon ever.
Rating: 10.0
My Rating: 9.3

I agree, Rain Dance is broken, but you forgot to mention opponent's cards.  Lightning and
grass are rising in popularity and if you have Rain Danced all of your water energy, you're
prone to Energy Removal.  Without these setbacks (and the fact that it's stage 2 and
people play Muk and Aerodacyl) I would have given it a 9.7 or 9.8.  There is not 1 single
card that deserves a 10.0.  10.0 would have resistance to everything, weakness to nothing,
free retreat, 200HP, and one-hit-KO attacks with no coin flips, discard, or self-damage.  If
you can name one card like that, would have to give it at least a 10.0, but not Blastoise.

Overall, not too good of a list.  Blastoise is the most sensible on the list, but a 10.0?
Crazy!  Here's my lists.  Sorry, I don't know every card.  Ther is no particular order,

Please send ideas for Togepi's nickname with replies or on any posts you send.  Once
