This is another kewl strategy from Neo Discovery that I thought up.  I was looking at my Poliwrath NH from Neo 2 and thought it wasnt that great because it did 20 to itself.  But after thinking thought that it wasn't so bad.
 
Here are some card translations for the Stage 1: Poliwhirl and Basic: Poliwag.
 
BS Poliwag 40 HP
 
[W] Water Gun [10+]: This attack does 10 damage plus 10 damage for every [W] energy card attached to Poliwag.  You cannot add more than 20 damage in this way.
 
Neo Discovery Poliwag 40 HP
 
[1] Rollout [10]
 
[W] Hypnosis: The defending Pokemon is now Asleep.
 
BS Poliwhirl 60 HP
 
[WW] Amnesia: Choose one of the defending Pokemon's attacks you may not use this attack next turn.
 
[WW1] Doubleslap: [30x] Flip 2 coins.  Does 30 damage times the # of heads.
 
Neo Discovery Poliwhirl 70 HP
 
[1] Belly Drum: Put 3 damage counters on Poliwhirl.  If this doesn't knock out Poliwhirl, search your deck for 2 basic energy cards and attach them to Poliwhirl.  Shuffle your deck afterward.
 
[WW1] Water Gun [30+]: Does 30 damage plus 10 more damage for each [W] energy attached to Poliwhirl but not used to pay for this attack.  You cant add more than 20 damage in this way.
 
Neo Discovery Poliwhirl 90 HP [F]
 
[F1] Corkscrew Punch [30]
 
[FF2] Submission Does 20 damage to Poliwhirl.  [70]
 
Those are the spoilers I put out.  I didn't bother with the BS Poliwrath as the strategy is with the Neo Discovery Poliwrath.  Now I know 20 damage is bad especially when doing it to yourself but when you have a Berry attached to him you do 70 damage with hardly any effect except discarding your berry.  
 
For the Stage 1 and Basic.  I would recommend any Poliwag.  I like Base Set's Poliwag but some people like the Neo 2 one.  For Poliwhirl's I like the Neo 2 one.  With Gold Berry get the damage off of Poliwhirl and 2 Fighting energy cards attached to Poliwhirl for the upcoming evolution Poliwrath (Neo Discovery).
