i was just using my slowking deck
against my friend (who hasnt played for
like a year). this is what i dont
seem to understand, how is it that some
decks that were so dominent arent
anymore like arcanine, or some other guys.
now since my friend haddnt played
in such a long time he still used a deck
taht had like 15 trainers so my
trap was useless and he could have easily
beat me with arcanine and lots of
energy(he had absolutly no cards past team
rocket, no ecogym, no r zapdos,
no nuthin good from neo or anything) luckly
my slowking got energy to
attack. well my point is that u can still play an
arcanine or dewgong or
gyrados deck safely against just about anything, i
stress arcanine because
steelix is played so much, well anyways i think we
all need to remember how
good a good'ole game of pokemon cards was whenu
didnt have to worry about a
1st turn trap, and with my friends deck U DIDNT!!
he had no trainers to trap
anyways (just lucky draws). maybe that game was
all luck, but still any old
base set deck is a match for the new archtypes.
let me remind u of some of
the originals-
*haymaker with chan-wont work TO well thanks to rz
*raindance- again wont really work
*blackout type decks- work just
peachy in our current invorement, i jsut
built a dragonair deck
*stall-must say that this is pretty much dead but every deck needs a tad bit
of stalling to charge up
*status effects- excellent, use some confusion,
poison, and paralisis to
accomplish this (i actually tried to use koffing
and dark wheezing, and it
worked)
*speedrill- never widespread but this
is the perfect opposite of of a 1st
lockdown, instead of trainers use
beedrill for a quick win, but this is kinda
one of those instant
win-boring-old-loser-decks
tahts some of the decks that may still
have a chance of winning especially
blackout+gyms to counter eco ;)
