Subject: RE: 12/19/01 Vileplume Ecogym and Mewtwo
"I have an awesome card strategy that no one really knows about. If you put an "Ecogym" in play, evolve an Oddish into a Vileplume (leave it on the Bench!) and have an active Base Set Mewtwo out in play, you can use Barrier, not have to discard the energy (that's where Ecogym comes into play,) and Vileplume's Pokemon Power will prevent your opponent form playing Trainer cards such as Gust of Wind. It's an unstoppable strategy, unless your opponent plays a Muk, but no one really uses Muk much nowadays." That is the article. My reply is: Sorry man. This won't work. The problem is with ecogym. Ecogym reads: "This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play. Whenever an attack, Pokemon Power, or Trainer card discards ANOTHER player's non-Colorless Energy card from a Pokemon, return that Energy card to its owner's hand. (Energy cards that are discarded when that Pokemon is Knocked Out don't count.)" Do you see the problem? Mewtwo discards his own energies. Ecogym only works with thing like Energy Removal. Even if this DID work, and even if Muk wasn't played, there is a thing called igglybuff.
