Hello everyone.  My name is Dr Ben Evil, and I am responding to a
previous article written.  I do agree that archetypes make the game somewhat
less fun, but you stated that decks were supposed to be one or two colors
with some colorless.  What was the original Haymaker made of?
Fighting(Hitmonchan), Electric(Buzz), and Colorless (Farfetch'd) which is
exactly what you described.  At first a Haymaker was original, but it became
so good that more people started using, thus an archetype.  Archetypes are
just really good decks that became popular because of their ability, plain
and simple.  Trainers really fan the flame here.   I don't like Prop15T
though.  I mean that the creators of the game screwed up bigtime.  Most
trainers should be color specific(Like magic spells), but few should be
universal(Like Magic Artifacts).  If they did this, decks could be a lot more
specialized with Pokemon and Trainers coinciding.  There would be a lot more
strategy and several different archetypes in one color, therefore dozens of
them just like Magic.  That is the one huge error I see with the game.  Why
are people going to change a good thing?  If some Trainers are so good and
universal, aren't people going to use them in almost every Deck?  If a person
comes up with a really good "original" deck, it will eventually beome an
archetype.  My opinions and ideas have been fully exausted now and it is time
to end.      -Dr Ben Evil
