Have you seen Pojo's Online League? I hope so :p. Online play is becoming
more and more popular by the day. Seeing as I have nothing better to do,
I'll go through the virtues of real life play and online play.

ONLINE PLAY:
1)Always Someone To Play;
Just say "want a game?" and generally, you get one. In real life, you would
have to grab a friend who wants to play, or go to a tourney.

2)Easy Access To Cards;
You don't need to burn loads of money to get that last Rocket's
Zapdos/Sneasel/Insert Good Card Here. All the cards are available to you.

3)Original Formats
Probably the thing I like best about online play. You can come up with some
crazy format to play in, and because you have access to all the cards,
there's a good chance you will get a game. I have been having great fun in
Heroes - Neo matches recently.

REAL LIFE:
1)Sociability
Playing the Pokemon TCG is a great way to meet people and make new friends,
which is harder to do over the net. NOTHING online can EVER compare to
seeing your opponents face as you Item Finder for that Gust to take the
surprise win. From my experiences, players you meet in real life a much
nicer than online players too.

2)A More Varied Field
Because not everyone can get the cards needed to make that killer deck, the
field of decks in real life is more varied, meaning more different types of
deck to play against, meaning more fun :D.

3)Realism
Anyone and everyone who has played online knows of......................THE
COIN. The coin on Apprentice (the program used to play cards online, if you
didnt know :P) is less random than........a very not random thing. You just
have to see it to believe it. 6 tails in a row? I've seen it happen. And not
as infrequently as you may think.

Like it or not, the Pokemon TCG is getting less and less popular in real
life. One day, I believe a large percentage of the hardcore fans will turn
to online play for their source of PTCG. But for now, the war wages on! :P
