Before I begin, this is not a direct response to the whole deck, the
strategy, or the submitter. It is with a certain group of Neo Grass Pokemon
that are featured in this deck, and this seemed like a good place to express
how irritated I am with it. Of course, I am talking about Jumpluff,
Skiploom, and Hopip. These cards are horrible. They are an insult to the
Grass type that I love so very much, the name Pokemon, and the reputation of
Wizards of the Coast for printing such garbage. Calling these cards
semi-broken is like calling Abra semi-broken. Let's look at these cards.
First of all, the Stage 2 card has 70 HP. Excuse me? 70 HP on a Stage 2?! I
don't believe it! I'm not going to go through all the hassle of evolving
into a Stage 2(especially with the high-speed of today's game) to be stuck
with a measly 70 HP! If I want to play with something with 70 HP, I'll save
myself time and stress by playing a Scyther or something. Second of all,
Sleep is NOT a good condition. It requires too many coin flips to do the
same thing that Paralysis can do with the one coin flip integrated in the
attack. And Leech Seed is no big deal. Ooh, I removed a damage counter off
of Jumpluff. You'll have to wait until next turn to kill me! Furthermore,
both attacks do a pathetic 20 damage. Don't get me wrong, 20 damage is
great...on turn 1. The bottom evolutions are worse, believe it or not.
Skiploom can Poison and Paralyze, which is nice, but sadly, that's the
highlight of this whole family. I wish the attacks did more than 10 damage
and he had more than 60 HP. Hopip does a boring 10 for 1. Forget about Call
For Family, you don't want more of these things on your bench. For a Basic,
50 HP is pretty good, but then again, 60 and 70 HP are also good numbers for
a Basic, and they ended up on a Stage 1 and 2. They do have Fighting
resistance, but who uses that anymore? Let me put it this way. Do not use
these cards. If you recieve one in a booster pack, trade it to someone who
needs one for their collection, because odds are they aren't dumb enough to
play with one, either. Thanks.
