first, i would like to send a word out to all the pokemon players out
there.  if you have a lot of trouble building a deck, my guess is that
the first place you go is a website just like this fine website.  you
should be a little more creative.  i got into pokemon about two years
back.  when packs cost 8 bucks.  now i buy a lot more, cuz they are
cheaper.  all you have to do to make a great deck is go out and buy two
premade decks, and about ten boosters.  then figure out what type your
best cards are.  then go find some friends.  trade off all your other
pokemon, except colorless.  get only pokemon of your type.  once you
think you have a good deck, buy some more packs.  think hard, and you
should find a good strategy, and maybe even a combo.  don't be afraid to
use a deck that people shunned a long time ago.  like a staller deck.  or
a rain dance deck.  you shouldn't be afraid to go your own way one this
one.  my favorite type of deck is water.  water pokemon have a lot of hp,
and usually good attack strength.  this is a great deck.  i have played
many different types of decks with it and won.  i even beat a good
electric deck.

2 squirtle base set
2 rockets squirtle
2 wartortle base set
2 dark wartortle
1 base set blastoise
1 dark blastoise
1 expedition blastoise.
4 totodile
2 croconaw
1 expedition feraligator
1 rockets porygon.
3 tentacool
2 tentacruel
2 myterious fossile
1 omanyte
3 pokemon breeder
2 lass
2 pokeball
1 copycat
1 elm
3 energy search
21 water energy.

by now you must be wondering what the heck i am getting at.  and why the
tentacruel, and tentacool.  well, this deck is called the peakaboo guns
deck.  you use omanyte to see your opponents hand.  use lass whenever
they get a good trainer.  you use the rockets blastoise's rockets tackle
to do deacent damage and possiby prevent damage next turn.  base set
blastoise to get all those water energys into play.  and here comes the
combo.  use your feraligatr's major tsunami to switch your opponents
pokemon.  then, because you have to bring out another pokemon too, use
tentacruel.  poison them with jellyfish sting.  next turn, retreat
tentacruel with no retreat cost (: to bring out your feraligatr and use
major tsunami again.  continue this, and your opponents pokemon will rot
on the bench while you keep your opponent on edge because he has to build
up all his pokemon because he never knows when he might have to bring
them out.  last but not least, as a final desperate measure, use rockets
porygon to change your opponents weakness to water.  then one feraligatrs
rending jaws and they are dead.
