Hey Pojomaniacs. I am here today to talk about Archetypes and if banning them
is the right solution. OK, lets get started. What are the archetypes played
today?
1. Wiggly
2. Sponge
3. Haymaker
4. Meganium
5. Rain Dance
6. Trapper
7. Slowking
Something like that right? OK. Now, many out there say that banning will be
the best possible option to take when dealing with Archetypes. WRONG!!!! OK,
many of you are saying "What!?!?! Bannung is the best solution!" OK. say we
ban, TR Zapdos, Scyther, Slowking, Meganium, Electabuzz, MP Mewtwo, RSA,
Rocket's Trap, IOR (Impostor Oak's Revenge), Wigglytuff and Blastoise. Now,
many of you say "Yeah! That's awesome!" OK. Now, Hitmonchan comes back in his
glory. As does Mr.mime, Erika's Jigglypuff, Clefable and Magmar. Then those
cards rule the TCG. So we ban those. Then Fossil Magmar, Erika's Dratini,
Dark Vileplume, and Gligar come to the top. So we ban those. Do you see a
pattern here? No matter which cards you ban THERE WILL ALWAYS BE AN
ARCHETYPE. You ban the popular archetypes now. Rain Dance comes back. You ban
that, Stall comes back. you ban that, new archetypes will form using legal
cards! So banning is not the solution. I believe that some cards should be
banned, others should be limited. I will not go into that because it will
take a long time, but to end my statement, banning will do nothing.
Absolutely nothing except give other cards glory they never had. So please,
jsut live with it. There will never, ever be a time when the TCG is without
archetypes. So just forget about it.
