Hmm. An article about Deck Fixes. Well, I guess it requires a reply from a
Deck Mech, eh? :)

"Hello, thanks for reading this.  Today, I want to talk about one of the
most
annoying things in this TCG.  No, it's not Archetypes or WoTC, but it's
people who fix decks for other people."

Hmm...annoying? Don't get me wrong, sometimes my jokes are a bit bad, but if
you see us trying to help aspiring players with their decks annoying, then I
dunno what to say.

"Times a many, I've seen people send a deck to a deck garage, much like the
one on Pojo.  I realize these people get some help if they are beginners,
and
no offense to the deck mechs, but I hate this.  The problem is, the people
who send these decks are a lot of advanced players, and they're too lazy to
try it themselves, or are scared to lose a tourney for once.  The main
problem is, the people who send them you'll see the next day on message
boards or a featured article about how people just copy decks off of the
internet, yet that's what they do when they get a mech fix."

Well, it's true that sometimes we recommend cards like 'Buzz, Rocket's Zappy
and Scyther, but that's not because they are archtypical cards-it's because
they're GOOD cards. No offense meant, but sometimes in order to make a deck
work, we simply need to remove some of the worse cards for some solid
backup.

"POKEMON 18
1 Ditto
4 Blaine's Ponyta
4 Blaine's Rapidash
3 Magmar (Fossil)
2 Gligar
2 Cleffa
2 Chansey

TRAINERS 24
1 Cinnibar City Gym
3 Pluspower
3 SER
3 Oak
3 Bill
3 Comp. Search
3 Item Finder
3 GoW
1 Scoop Up
1 Mr. Fuji

ENERGY 18
11 Fire
3 Recycle
4 DC

Well, this guy asked questions like Why Fuji?  Why so many single cards?
and
many more."

I don't see the problem. I would have asked the same thing. Y'see, if you
had written up a quick summary of this deck's strategy, then maybe the Fujis
would have a clear-cut reason to be in here-like maybe you deck to fast or
something along those lines. And as for singles...well, I think the person
fixing your deck was right about asking about the singles. Most of the time
having singles of a card doesn't help.

"Well, this isn't the case in archetypes, but in this deck people don't know
how it plays.  Many people don't understand the power of waiting until you
drew your last card, and you Fuji a damaged evolution with much needed
energy
back in, giving you 3-4 more turns.  Actually in my weekly tourney at Game
Trader today, I won 3 games just by that and unfortunately ended up third
(Horrible bad luck, lost first turn in final four.).  It is hilarious to see
peoples faces when they think they deck me, they only have 2 or 3 cards
left,
and I put back 4 or 5 cards!  No one else would know this, or know that the
single cards aren't important, they just can do magnificent things every
once
in a while."

That's why we ask for a good strategy write-up with each deck: to see how
well it performs. Without it, we just try to make it perform better, and
sometimes this means adding in some solid basics like 'Buzz.

"Well, I hope this opens some people's eyes up, and they stray away from
popular decks (like popular people) and are different and in many ways
better.  There are many more reasons, and I actually want to read all
hatemail, praise, or replies.  I expect this to start commotion, but it
hopefully will get people thinking."

Well, I must say that I'm a bit irratated. Myself and my fellow Deck Mechs
here at Pojo.com fix people's deck to be of some help. If they don't like
the fix, then they don't have to use it. Calling us 'annoying' is a bit
mean, if ya ask me.
Until next time, good luck and happy gaming!
