Rating System:

Today I will be adding the rating of zero “0.”

This is a 5 out of 5. Perfect card in almost every way! Should be in every deck.

This is a 4 out of 5. Good card and reliable, above average!

This is a 3 out of 5. Ok card, useable, average card.

This is a 2 out of 5. Not a very good card, but might be good later.

This is a 1 out of 5. Meaning this card stinks. Put it back in the pack and send it to wizards.

This is a 0 out of 5. Hmm…*thinking* how can I put this in a nice way? I can’t its just that terrible. Hope no card gets this rating!

Now lets get to the stuff you came here for, my card of the day. Is………..*Rings the Junker’s door *

It’s Ditto!

Power:       "Transform"

If Ditto is your Active Pokemon, treat it as if it were the same

Card as the Defending Pokemon, including type, Hit Points,

Weakness, and so on, except Ditto can't evolve, always has this

Pokemon Power, and you may treat any Energy attached to Ditto as

Energy of any type.  Ditto isn't a copy of any other Pokemon while

Ditto is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.

   Facts

ü    Colorless Pokemon

ü    Can transform into any pokemon

ü    Basic Pokemon

ü    Technically has a weakness to fighting and resistance to psychic.

ü    50 Hp

Strategies with Ditto …

Ditto has so many strategies that I don’t know where to begin!! Well the first thing I want to say is ditto’s power is truly amazing, he can transform into ANY Pokemon from any set! This flexibly truly makes ditto unique and makes him a great card. That’s why he is used in many decks in the pokemon trading card game!

Some strategies that I have come up with are that Ditto can absolutely destroy sneasal with Double Colorless energy. Ditto with gust of wind can pick out the sneasals on the bench. Dittos are good because they are flexible. So if your opponent has a cleffa, sneasal, wigglytuff, steelix, or Rockets Zapdos, you could use the cleffa to ‘eeeek’ if you need to draw 7 cards. The other pokemon are just to do damage to them while they are powering up themselves.

Another little tip, you must use Scoop up, switch, Berry, Gold berry, or Super Scoop up. The reason you must have these trainers in your deck is to avoid a chance of being a victim of “Double Knock Out.” Double Knock Out is when dittos take about 30 to 50 damage and your opponent might gust you out for another weaken or low hp pokemon and if your ditto had 50 damage it would be knocked out. (Your opponent takes a prize.) Since your opponent hasn’t attacked yet he could attack and knock out the new active pokemon he gusted out.

The 2nd way you could become a victim of Double Knock is if your opponent attacks ditto and it gives it 30 damage. Next turn you might attack etc, then it’s your opponents turn he or she will retreat their active and will play a baby pokemon or low hp pokemon to their active slot. Since your ditto has 30 hp and your opponent brings up a cleffa. Kiss that ditto goodbye, since the opponent still hasn’t attacked and got a prize from bringing up the baby pokemon they could attack with a powered up pokemon to your new active and knock that one out too.  So that’s why you MUST have those trainers in your deck.

Rocket Zapdos a big problem?

With ditto we could get a Double colorless energy on him and Plasma for 20. Your opponent attacks 20, now attach another Double colorless energy and attach a Gold berry to ditto! So now you could do electro burn to Zapdos for 70. Zapdos is knocked out and since you have 20 damage on ditto and he receives 20 for the electro burn (20+20=40). Ditto could now use his gold berry and have No damage on him! (NOTE: Wizards of the Coast ruled that any energy on ditto counts as all energies. So if you had two double colorless energy, like in my example, that would count as 2 lighting since we only attached 2 energy cards, so that’s why ditto takes damage but still counts as 4 energies so you could do the attack of electro burn.)

Good Combos with Ditto

Good Combos with ditto are Potion, Full heal, double colorless, and Recycle Energy all help out ditto and supply energy at the same time. Try to use Recycle energy with Super Energy removal this really gives the advantage to ditto in a lot of matches. Gold berries, Berries, Potions, and Super potions are all great for ditto for avoiding the double knock out.

Gust of winds are the most important part of any ditto decks because most players wouldn’t let their pokemon get killed by ditto. If played right you could knock out Movie promo mewtwo, sneasal, wiggly, rockets zapdos, or any other haymaker pokemon with a single gust of wind.

How to Counter Ditto?

Well the easiest way you could knock out ditto are by using Base set Electabuzz. With his thunder punch doing 30 to 40 damage you could do the double knock out trick or shock to take away dittos power. You could also use a goop gas attack or gust of wind. If you want an anti ditto deck just use Fossil Muk. Some other pokemon that can knock out ditto very fast are:

Ø     Movie Promo Mewtwo

Ø     Wigglytuff

Ø     Sneasal

Ø     Steelix

Ø     Erica’s Jigglypuff

Ø     Scyther

Ø     Rocket’s Scyther

Ditto is kicking your butt in a match? What do you do?

Well the smart thing to do is “Stall”. By stalling I mean while your opponent has his ditto in as his active you want to play a pokemon that will not do as much damage or no damage. An example of that is your opponent has a Ditto and you bring up Chansey, Clefable, Cleffa, Clefairy, Ditto, Erica’s Dratini or any other baby pokemon. To lockdown your opponents ditto he would have to transform into what your active is so if it’s a Ditto vs. Ditto that match is not going anywhere until someone retreats or does a trainer like gust of wind or double gust. While the “Stalling/Lockdown” is happening you will power up a pokemon to knock out the ditto.

Rating?????????

I give this Card a 4 out of 5  ****

Ok this card is very good. The most impressive thing of this card is that it can transform into any pokemon. That’s means that whenever a new haymaker pokemon or new Hot card comes out that ditto could compete right with it and may be better then the original card! Ditto didn’t get the perfect score of 5 out 5 because the drawback of ditto is that he could be put in the double knock out situation and that’s not cool, but still a great card. It’s faster then a sneasal, more annoying then a slowking, and smaller then a snorlax it’s Ditto!!!
