Speedy: I'm Trainer Speedy, here with my assistant, Venusaur!
Venusaur: HI!
Speedy: Today we look at-
Venusaur: -a timeline of Grass!
Speedy: Don't interrupt, please.  Anyway, Venusaur will do a timeline of
grass, starting with Base 1, and continuing through Neo (we're skipping Base
2.)
Venusaur: Hey Thanx!  Here we go!

Base 1: I'm the total bigshot here!  Tied with me are the oh-so-powerful
Nidoking and the Chan-proof Beedrill!  Breeder instantly Grass' helper in
getting powergrass (like ME!) very quickly.  Koffing is also great, with the
first heads-tails status attack.

Speedy: Trust me: Venusaur really loves this set: it features him.
Venusaur: ANYWAY...

Jungle: Exeggutor, Venomoth, Vileplume, Butterfree (believe me, I know), and
Nidoqueen (yes she's good) are the great evos, and Scyther and Pinsir are the
other Babe Ruths.  The Exeggutor family is the first Psychic/Grass merge.
Victreebell is given a terrible card, and Parasect is just mediocre.

Fossil: Muk is made instant hit, and Grimer isn't shabby at all.  Golbat,
Weezing, and Arbok stink here.  Not much otherwise.

Speedy: No exaggeration: that's Fossil.
Venusaur: Ahem....

Rocket: Arbok and Weezing's Dark incarnations are definite improvements.
Dark Vileplume really shuts Trainers down, helping the new RSA.  Dark Muk is
the single-handed inventor of Freezelock decks.  Dark Golbat puts Grass
aggressiveness into Basic (or in this case, Stage 1).  Even when not evolved,
Dark Gloom still makes for a solid staller.

Gym Heroes: Victreebell finally gets a good card.  Vileplume given an even
better one.  Sabrina's Venomoth and Venonat can now use Psychic energy, and
to top it off, Venonat turns Energy Removal and Venomoth is upgraded from 50%
status to 75%!  Erika's Exeggutor made the Grass dark horse for this set.
Rocket's Scyther makes a perfect addition to a Grass deck.

Speedy: I can't believe it.  Four straight sets without another Venusaur in
sight.
Venusaur: Don't make my flower wilt..

Gym Challenge: A new Venusaur, but it's sadly overlooked.  Koga's Beedrill,
however, enters with a BANG!!!  Koga's Muk continues a good streak of family
heritage of Muks.  Giovanni's Grass Pokemon are REALLY BAD, being worse than
they should.  Koga's Golbat & Zubat are extremely useful, Zubat mainly for
Wigglytuff decks.

Neo: Grass extremely powers up!!!  Both Meganiums are great, and LV 57's Wild
Growth means I need only two Grass energies to Solarbeam!  Jumpluff becomes
grass' first 1 energy for any attack Stage 2.  Ariados is the "advocate of
DarkMuk."  Heracross stinks, and Eco Gym help's Lv. 57 Meganium and Jumpluff
fight Energy Removal decks.

That's all!  Waitaminute,

Promo: Another me!  I have an Anti-bad status Power, and a Mega Drain!
Computer Error helps with SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!

Speedy:  Lemmesee, that's 3 Venusaurs!
Venusaur: Not too bad.
