How to get past a Mulligan Mewtwo deck by Moogle1 In case you just tuned in, a "Mulligan Mewtwo" deck is a staller deck devised to make you run out of cards quickly. It uses Mewtwo and its attack "Barrier" to prevent damage, and makes you draw more cards. Kinda a cheap strategy. Now, if you didn't just tune in, you may have read the suggestions involving Polywhirl's "Amnesia" attack. This will disable one of the defending Pokemon's attacks--or it WOULD disable it, if "Barrier" didn't specifically say to "prevent all effects of attacks (including damage)." Hmm. It seems the Polywhirl strategy won't work in this instance. What will, then? Let's take a closer look at "Barrier." Mewtwo's attack costs 2 Psychic to use. It requires Mewtwo to discard one Psychic energy to use the attack. Wait! It requires 2 Psychic, right? So, your opponent won't be using it on his first turn. That's good, but it's really unlikely that you'll get 60 damage off before Mewtwo is fully energized. What else can you do? Well, Mewtwo loses an energy each turn, right? You could wait for your opponent to run out of energy! Unfortunately, the Mulligan Mewtwo deck type has about 50 Psychic energy, so chances are he'll draw one each turn. However, back to the 2 Psychic problem. If he discards one of his Psy energies each turn, then he only has one Psy energy at the beginning of the next, right? What happens if you use Energy Removal during your turn? Energy Removal is a Trainer card, and not an attack. This will work. That's it. A common Trainer card to stop the Unstoppable Mewtwo deck. Kinda silly, isn't it? Next time you see someone using this, pull out your Blackout deck and laugh in their face.
