Spidersilk Armor 2G Enchantment Creatures you control get +0/+1 and may block as though they had flying. I cannot believe how much this card is ignored. So many times have I played with this in a game and an onlooker commented "That's a good card" or something like that. First of all, the +0/+1 is often a lifesaver. Say you and opponent both have the same creature, one with the same power and toughness. I'll use Blastoderm as an example. The problem for them is, YOUR Blastoderm could kill HIS Blastoderm in combat and still survive. Trust me, you can either stall their 'derm or damage them easily. YOU have control over the situation Another good way to use the second ability is with, say, earthquake or bloodfire dwarf. When you sac the dwarf, it deals 1 damage to all creatures. LOL, they lose all their llanowar elves, querion elves, birds of paradise, rishadan airships... it's just too many to count! And if you had any of those it would survive because yours have 2 toughness, not 1. You could Earthquake for 5 when each player has a 'derm out and your 'derm would still be alive, and you'd probably kill most of the other creatures. As for the second ability... it works great against flying decks. You know the ones... airships, rootwater thieves, etc... Now your elf is a 1/2 that can block and kill rishadan airship. It will totally slow their deck down. And having trouble with the legendary dragons? Your legendary dragon, spiritmonger, penumbra wurm, etc. can block and kill it, and not even die! No need to regenerate! Around my parts, enchantment destruction is rare at my tourneys, used mostly only for sideboards. Fortunately if you keep an extra in your hand you can bring it out later on. If they don't have tranquilitys or whatever you can play 2 spidersilk armors and all your creatures get +0/+2! Your blastoderm can now block a dragon legend and not even die! Your utopia tree is now practically a 0/4 wall that can bring in mana for 1! And don't even get me started on normal walls. Wall of air is a 1/7! it can survive a dragon attack easily! Glacial wall is now a 0/9 and is a dragon blocker! Those sucky 1/3 walls from MM that have decent abilities are now 1/5 walls which makes a completely new perspective! My examples have been simple, and have not done the card justice. At one time I had 2 spidersilk armors out and several creatures. Here's a perspective of how good it can get (This actually happened to me): A 5/7 Blastoderm (blocks fliers!) A 6/8 Rith A 2/4 Goblin Legionnaire! A 2/3 Penumbra Bobcat, that would return as a black 2/3 bobcat token! HERE'S THE GOOD PART!: SEVEN 1/3 saproling tokens, and more soon to come (from Rith)! I hope you've realized that your Rishadan Airship no longer needs to be killed by a fairy. Your Blastoderm can and will take control of the board. Your dragon legends will make people wet their pants. Your saprolings will NOT be ignored! A Fire/Ice will no longer take care of your Flametongue Kavus! Earthquake's power will be weighted to your side! Your elves will be faster, smarter, bolder, stronger, and better-looking! Yes, well... trust me, this card is good -brett3@aol.com
