[mailto:crowed4ever@yahoo.com] Time of Need: Type II Rant When I first looked through the spoiler for Champions of Kamigawa, my jaw just about dropped when I read one little green card. Let me show you... Time of Need [1G] Sorcery Search your library for a legendary creature card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library. Ladies and gentlemen, do you know how many legendary creature cards there are in this set alone? Last I checked, there were 46 unique legendary creatures running around. That's a lot of legends. I haven't seen this many legends running around in one set since...well...Legends. Face it. Legends ARE going to make or break your decks in Type II. The metagame WILL change. I can already see Tooth and Nail decks throwing in the new Dragon Legends and Myojins, not to mention cards like The Unspeakable or Kuro, Pitlord. People are going to use legends like crazy, whether they form part of an unstoppable combo or just like beating their opponent senseless with them. (Sometimes both) *Shudder* This is why I think Time of Need deserves a serious look over. Green got a major tutor card. Time to put it to work. Luckily for Green, it has a lot of mana fixers and land searchers. Combining Green with any other color is not a problem. So you can use this awesome card in pretty much every deck...especially since its color requirement is a single Green mana. Splashable and useful. Time of Need really shines in combo decks. Wanna combine Yosei, the Morning Star with some sort of recursion? Don't want to fill you deck up with legends that you can only play one copy of anyway? Throw in 4 copies of Time of Need and limit the legendary creatures to a copy or two. With this, you don't have to fill up your library with potentially useless cards, and can instead fill it with SOLUTIONS. Counterspell, elimination, destruction, land searching, defense, offense... what do you need? Now you have more slots for solutions to your opponent' attacks. So, in conclusion, this is a power card. Time of Need WILL shape Type II. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see this restricted or banned in a few months...especially if they release more high-quality legends in Traitors of Kamigawa.
