It just came out that way. One of the advantages to this deck is it is incredibly fast. Most decks cant hold a candle to this deck. You simply outrace them to victory on this back of your incredibly powerful, fast monsters. Some of the monsters in this deck are the fastest ever created by wizards of the coast, and you will take advantage of it. First, the land base. 20 lands, which is less then normal decks have, but it works out because of (a.) the low cost of almost all the creatures and (b.) other mana sources, namely Blood pet and Dark Ritual. It usaually works out very well, having 3 land in hand is enough to fuel the entire game. Now, the fun part, the CREATURES! and why this deck is so fast. Except four the three fatties that are in the deck, every monster in the deck costs either 1 or 2, and their power is way above that of normal. To go through the list - Carnophage is a 1 mana 2/2 creature with an upkeep of pay 1 life a turn. That is fast. Generally, you will not care about your life total as long as your opponents is lower, or about to be drastically lower. Blood Pet is 1/1 B that you can sak to produce a B mana, so you timmy for 1 then sak for something bigger. Circling Vultures cost B, 3/2 FLYING. It has an upkeep of removing a monster from your grave from the game. You can also discard it from your hand whenever you feel like it, so you can fuel a Vulture or... Barrow Ghoul! Costing 1B it weighs in at 4/4 with the same upkeep as the Vulture, it is fast and brutal. We also have Skittering Skirge (BB 3/2 Flying), Foul Imp (BB 2/2 Flying), and Dauthi Horror (2/1 1B Shadow), all fast creatures with some type of evasion ability. Finally, there is Flesh Reaver (1B 4/4), the riskiest creature in the deck, because of all the damage it can deal you (whenever it deals damage you take four. Finally, we have some fatties (Yay!). First, there is Kezzerdrix, a 2BB 4/4 first strike, which deals you 4 damage if they have no monsters, which will happen less often then you think. Then there is Crovax the Cursed, a 4/4 flyer that gets bigger as you feed it monsters. Finally, there is the Spirit of the Night, a 6/5 Haste Trample Flying PFB First Strike when attacking destroyer. Now while most monsters in the deck are fast (Even Kezzerdrix and Crovax when you factor in Dark Ritual) Spirit of the Night costs a heavy 6BBB, meaning you will never get him out normally. I guess you could put in Akroma if you wanted to, but I like the Spirit as he fits the I'm going to give you a quick yet exceedingly painful death theme, plus I dont have Akroma. Meh. Now we get to spells. We circle around the reanimation theme and taking advantage of your graveyard heavily here. 2 Exhume, 3 Reanimate, and 1 Living Death are enough to keep monster advantage on your side. We pack 2 Buried Alive to (a.) Fuel the Vultures and Barrow Ghoul, (b.) Fuel Living Death, and (c.) Fuel General Reanimation. There are 3 Dark Rituals for obcious reasons. For general Removal we have 3 Diabolic Edicts and 2 Fatal Blows (Which is good in conjunction with Blood Pet). The final Interesting Spell is Haunting Misery. You remove X monster cards in your grave from the game to deal X damage to your opponent. What with Buried Alive and Vultures this can easily be your finishing blow. And it costs 1BB! Well, that's my deck. Average kill time is 4 turns with a decent hand. I might have some restriction problems with my deck (I'm thinking of Vampiric Tutor mostly), so if I do please tell me. I'm trying to find a Necropotence to put in my deck, to further speed it (I ACTUALLY HAD ONE WHEN I WAS 7 BUT I GOT RIPPED OFF FROM IT BY A 20 YEAR OLD). If you have any suggestions, you like my deck, hate it or hate me, or come to tell me I should have put in a Phyrexian Negator in to the deck, you can e-mail me at walsharch@comcast.com I probably will reply but im not sure. Peace out.
