Subject: "Doomsday", a deck utilizing Entomb/Exhume - FalseFred “Doomsday”, a deck utilizing Entomb/Exhume - FalseFred Black Creatures (14) 4 Avatar of Woe 4 Laquatus' Champion 4 Hypnox 1 Spirit of the Night 1 Volrath the Fallen White Creatures (1) 1 Reya Dawnbringer Black Spells (23) 4 Dark Ritual 4 Entomb 4 Exhume 4 Buried Alive 4 All Hallows Eve 2 Zombify 1 Demonic Tutor Red Spells (3) 3 Fervor Land (19) 15 Swamps 4 Badlands Turn 1: Land > Dark Ritual > Entomb > Exhume (one of these): 1. Spirit of the Night - Haste, First Strike, 6/5 (this has Haste, so normally I would choose this) 2. Hypnox - Flying, 8/8 3. Avatar of Woe - Fear, Tap to Kill Creature, 6/5 4. Reya Dawnbringer - If you have an extra Entomb in your hand, go for it. She’ll bring into play a creature from your Graveyard at Upkeep. Flying, 4/6 Turns 2-6: Spend a few turns disintegrating them with your massive creature(s) and using Entomb and Buried Alive to toss into your graveyard as many creatures as possible. Get Volrath the Fallen into play so that you can pump him while discarding creatures into your graveyard from your hand (a single discarded Hypnox would make Volrath a 17/15 creature for the turn, 2 would make him 28/26). Also work to getting as many Laquatus’ Champion into your Graveyard as possible, the goal being 4. Turn 4: Play All Hallows Eve. Before Turn 7: Get a Badlands so that you can play Fervor. All your creatures will gain Haste, this is important. Turn 7: This is doomsday for your opponent, if he has miraculously survived this long. All Hallows Eve will cause all of the creatures that are in your Graveyard to come into play. With Fervor, all of your creatures will have haste, so they can all attack on the turn that All Hallows Eve unleashes them. If you have 4 Laquatus’ Champion in your Graveyard, the opponent will automatically lose 24 life. That, in addition to a swarm of massive creatures, should indefinitely put an end to the game. Weakness: I think this decks' closest thing to weaknesses are Blue Counter decks, and White Decks that completely color-hose Black with Light of Day and Protection-From-Black/Worship (Though nothing that 4 Laquatus’ Champions brought into play simultaneously can’t handle, hehe). The trouble is, this deck is very hard to compile. I play it with a few proxys right now, All Hallows Eve costs a whooping $15-$30 a piece!!! Not to mention the hefty price tag on Badlands, I may just have to use the cheap imitations; Sulfurous Springs and Tainted Peak. Colin aka FalseFred Questions? Comments?
