Wrom: GAUTFJMVRESKPNKMBIPBARHDMNNSKVFVWRKJVZCMH Subject: White Protection Type 1 Alright Guys. I love this deck. It seems a little more on the simple side but it works for Type 1 tournament play easily. Ok, I’m all for giving you the cards straight off so you know what I’m talking about then I’ll hit the explanations and chit chat. Lands(18): 18 Plains I kinda figured with such a low casting cost deck even 18 would be over kill but it’s the safety of knowing that you should have a land coming up soon if you’re scrounging for one. Spells(8): 4. Swords to Plowshares 4. Disenchants Enchantments(8): 4. Crusades 4. Flickering Wards Creatures(26): 4. White Knights 4. Knight of Dawns 4. Youthful Knights 4. Duskrider Falcons 4. Freewind Falcons 4. Serra Angels 2. Mother of Runes Alright – This deck is all about the Protection. I have the White Knights, and Duskrider Falcons against the black I have Freewinds against the Red The Knights of Dawn are allrounders- perfect for any white protection deck. My Serra’s and my Youthful Knights are really the only things not covered. And That’s why I have my Mother’s of Runes and my 4 Flickering wards. The Plains – Why use any other mana producer for such a simple deck? No need. The 4 Swords that I threw in. Why not? So what if they give your opponent life, you’ll be dealing so much so fast these aren’t for anything except the little creatures coming out in the beginning few rounds to slow your opponent down. The Disenchants are always a must. They take care of those pesky Propaganda spells that blue decks carry around, the few white decks that still play moats, Factory’s and other things that might get in your way. Crusades – Gotta love em. Who cares if your opponents playing white? Besides the Serra everything’s such a low mana cost that you’ll never have to worry about who has more creatures. The Flickering Wards – I was wondering what else I could put in incase I went up against a fast burn or a strong green.. These things give your creatures quick color protections. And the wards can be returned to your hand for a measly W! what better?!? My Knights – Gotta love em. The White Knights are classics, used in almost any White creature deck. The Knight of Dawns are just as important. I’m willing to spend the extra one mana to have a protection from any color. The Youthful Knights you say? A White Elvish Archer! They ALWAYS go over looked. I love these cards. They’re even better in a multicolored deck. The First Strike on all 3 of these will hinder all 2/2’s or 2/1’s your opponent can throw at you. Boom DONE quick first strikers. Duskriders and Freewinds. The quick flyers for the decks. Throw protection on these suckers if they need it. And watch the crusades pump em until they stop pecking at your enemy and start creamating them. The Serra’s – These are my clean up cards. If I can get these out before the games over with. It won’t take much longer for it to end. Throw some protection on these babies and they’ll romp your opponent and some destructive defense all at once. God I Love my Mother’s of Runes. Tap to give a protection to a creature? I’ll take it!. Ok Here’s the thing. I personally think this deck works beautiful as it is. BUT if you prefer a little more speed, take out The Youthful Knights and throw in 4 Soul Wardens. Then you can grab some quick hits off your enemy. And gain life while casting some of those other little nasty’s you have in here. Okay – There’s my deck in a nutshell. ALSO. If you think the land is too high, you can throw in some Soltari Footsoldiers for some more first turn action just incase. – adds some spice to the deck by having 2 or 4 of these shadow creatures. ~Richard Kirchner~ sytupalkin@hotmail.com
