Anyone who plays a blue skies deck with Troublesome Spirit's is stuck with thinking inside the box. This is true for the people that copy decklists straight from the Internet. I admit it, I did the same thing when I was starting out. I'd look for decks with simple strategies and copy them. But, as the game became more dynamic to me and I figured things out I thought that I should make up my own ideas. Even now I look online for decks, and change things that I don't think fit. So for the many beginners that go to Pojo for decks, i encourage you to adjust them, tweek them and put a little spin on them. Back to Troublesome spirit. Yep it down right sucks. Skies really needs a beatstick with little drawbacks. what I use in my deck is Indentured Djinn. 3 for a 4/4 flier with your opponent drawing three cards is great. so what if they get a Ghitu Fire or Skizzik? That is why you took out the mana hungry spirit and added straight counterspells. Without the spirit Chimeric Idol loses some of its umph. so he too is gone from the deck, he'll be in the sideboard in case of those pesky rebel decks loaded with Rout and WoG. Since Mask is no longer type two a good Legacy card to toss in is Cloud of Fairies, They're free and give you three creatures on turn two. Against other creature based decks skies can have a problem. I use Glacial Wall and Waterfront Bouncer against Fires and rebels. For additional protection from small creatures and rebels Prodigal Sorcerer pings them away. From the original decklist I kept Cloudskate, Cloud Sprite, Daze, Thwart, Wash Out, and Gush. I added Indentured Djinn, Glacial Wall, Prodigal Sorcerer, Cloud of Fairies, Ensnare, Counterspell, Waterfront Bouncer, Boomerang and Withdraw. the deck looks like this Creatures (22): 4 Cloud Sprite 4 Indentured Djinn 4 Cloud of Fairies 2 Waterfront Bouncer 4 Prodigal Sorcerer 2 Cloudskate 2 Glacial Wall Spells (18): 2 Washout 2 Thwart 3 Gush 4 Counterspell 1 Daze 2 Boomerang 2 Withdraw 2 Ensnare Land (20): 20 Island Side Board: Figure it out for yourself From: Iamthewactweasel@aol.com
