Well, this isn't exactly a control deck because of the lack of counterspells. But, it does have land destruction, creature destrucion, artifact stalling (w/ Rings of Gix and Manipulators) and of course, deck destruction.

This is a kind of deck that can make a man with three Avatars of Might and four Shivan Dragons fall to his knees in defeat. Any creature without black protection can be tapped by the Gixes and Manipulators and the zapped by the Assassin (Royal, of course. What idiot uses Stronghold Assassins?)
However, it doesn't fit into any tournament blocks because it lacks and cards that were printed after the Urza's series and can't compare to the rich idiots in Type one with three Moxes, four Juzams, and three Libraries of Alexandria. But, it is quite fun to use in nonchalant tournaments at the local card shop that usually begin when the shopkeeper decides that no one is really buying Mirage starters, and that his three most loyal customers are all in the shop at one time with their deck boxes.

I only have two or three of the best artifacts because my budget for cards is around $5 a week.

This kind of Deck Destruction does face problems against Feldons Cane, but I still have managed to grind away over 180 cards with this deck. Also, Shatterstorms can really screw you over in a deck whose only permanents are artifacts, lands, and one 1/1 creature.

One more thing.... Millstones work also, but I'm willing to use another mana to kill mono-color decks. (Wait, there's room for Millstones on a sideboard....)
