Time Machine 24 Lightning Energy Well, this was based on the deck I did last time, only I just scrapped the Salamence line completely and made it purely electric. Basically, I could get out the Manectric ex or Manectric quickly and ko pokemon quickly to win. I borrowed some cards off my leader and added them to the deck. Ended up buying them later and added them permanently to the deck. So, after a quick lunch at Burger King, went to the Pub to set it up. Info to the USA players first of all. We in UK are still having Citys as our OP are allowing it. POP aren't however and that's why were still playing Citys and you're playing States. It began with a Rochestar Draft Side-Tourney, using Rocket Returns boosters. Basically, I played Water pokemon and any Pokemon with Colourless attacks (Rocket's Snorlax ex was a very usful thing to draw...) and ended up going 3-1 winning it and got the ex plus other random holos. Wrote up the decklist and gave it to the leader, then pairings were posted... Round 1 vs. John Fotheringham (Magneton/Cacturne) Deja vu from the last City Championship... similar result as well. A Turn 2 Manectric ex got rid of his benched Cacnea, thus avoiding the poison effect. But eventually, I couldn't take anymore and when time was called, he knocked out the ex to take the win. 0-1 Round 2 vs Jennifer (Random Psychic Deck) I started giggling to myself as soon as I drew my hand. Drew Electrike, Manectric ex, several energy and Surprize Time Machine. All she sent out was a Execcute, which confused me, so play Manectric ex to get rid of it and then ko'ed to win. 1-1 Round 3 vs. Chris (15+ City Champion, Dragonite ex/Articuno) I somehow drew a similar hand to the last time, and he had Yanma (weakness to Lightning), he used quick charge. Turn 2 evolve to Manectric ex, double damage for weakness and ko'ed his only pokemon for the win. 2nd Turn 2 Victory in a row! 2-1 Round 4 vs. Alastair (10- City Champ, despite being in wrong category, Moltres/Zapdos ex) A early Zapdos and Rayquaza ex sent me into submission and I lost badly. Oh well. 2-2 Results... 1st) John F (15+) 2nd) Alastair F (11-14) 3rd) Cole B (me! 11-14) 4th) Ross (10-) 5th) Caitlin F (10-) 6th) Paul (10-) 7th equal) Chris and Jennifer (both 15+) So, the people who qualified this time for the UK Nationals were... 10- Caitlin F (well deserved, she did really well in this tournament despite the absolutely c*** TMS incident last time) 11-14 Cole B (no explaination necessary) 15+ John F (undefeated throughout the day despite his children who stole his cards. Well earned victory. Nd on the plus side, there is now his entire family attending as both his kids have qualified!) So, carried my medal back to Edinburgh with pride, opened the boosters which were absolutely terrible, as were the POP boosters...but still got the goodie bag! So, now time for the Props and Slops... Props Chalkey, league leader, TO, great tourney and side event plus helped with my deck. The Place for Games Ltd, OP, great prizes guys! POP, equally good prizes. Fotheringham Family, well done on all of you qualifying! Slops TMS, again, slowed us down by incorrect parings in last round... Pokemon DeckTin, my trusted Rayquaza tin broke... POP booster, I don't need 3 more Plusles and Minuns! Rocket Returns boosters, terrible stuff in prizes. So, till next time, later. pokeguru pokeguru@gmail.com
