Scizor. The 6 letter word that makes me very angry. Its amazing how a
player that isnt too experienced can just pick up a Scizor deck and
practically win a tourney. This proves that it takes little skill to
play a
Scizor deck, very little. Oh well on with the report. I woke up early
because Meganium45 was going to pick me up at 9:30 to drive me to Dragon
King where the SBZ was being held. I got my stuff together and
got my burned Kidneythieves CD and he, with his green haired son,
arrived and we left. We talked a long the way about how things are going
to go today and about GenCon. We arrive at about 10 oclock and
Meganium45 is gonna have a draft there at 11. So we go in and a local,
Mike Kendle (Ditto on the
boards), is there. We talk to him and he is in deep thought about what
he is going to play. More and more people arrive and I gather the cards
I need from them as they come. I get my cards from Jumpluff Maddness who
is just about the coolest person anyone could meet. Then TR Shadow
arrives with her
bunch and I get my cards from her. Meganium45 decides that he wants to
enter and has Mega Murkrow T.O. the draft. So were put into pods and
everyone thats like a local and knows me are like why are u in the
11-14? And Im like because Im 14 and theyre like get over here. Well Im
not moved but other people are, and I end up being in a 5 person pod
where Im the only guy. Lol how many people can ever say that in Pokemon.
Well we are drafting 2 NG and 4 SK. The girls in my pod go SOOO slowly
its not even funny. I get a
fair deck going with Dugtrio, Forretress (both grass and steel), and a
Politoed line. I start off playing Jumpluff Maddness sister and she
beats me cause my Dugtrios are weak to her grass. Then I play someone,
cant remember, and win. Finally I play a friend of TR Shadows and I beat
her. That ends the tourney. I go 2-1 and TR Shadow goes 3-0, usually she
isnt too good in Draft. But today she does well, in draft. At the end of
the draft KctheprofessorOfPoke and his dad arrive and we talk a while. I
fill out my decklist and here is what Im playing

The deck works pretty nicely, but I didnt think it would do too well. So
after some more bashing about me being in the 11-14 we start the
tourney. I name the deck Unfinished Thought after one of my favorite
bands. There are 32 people who are here which is AMAZING cause usually
we have such a little group. Well the pairings are up and it starts.
Round 1: UT V.S. Typhlosion with fire back up.
Well I get the crappiest start and she does some nasty stuff with her
Rapidash and gets a 3 prize lead. I finally get stuff going and KO her
Rapidash with Typhlosion. Then she has 2 Elekids that sorda cause me
trouble. I knock one out and then she gets out a Cyndaquil and evos
Quilava. I DG it out and this is her final pokemon. Retreat for Eggy and
discard 11 energy with Super Eggsplosion. After 5 heads she is dead. And
that gives me the game.
I watch the rest of the games and like all my friends win like TR
Shadow, Ditto, Kctheprofessor, and Jumpluff Maddness. Chad Young(psyduck
on the boards) loses to another awesome local player, Newman. Chad was
not happy because of that, he was playing an Espeon/Tentracruel. The
next round is definitely a good one. And a shocker to practially
everyone in the tourney, ITll explain later.
Round 2: UT versus Scizor/Houndoom(TR Shadows Brother)
He tries to Rogue me but fails and I get set up getting a quick
Typhlosion and just OHKOing his stuff. So I win quickly. He just turned
11 so the competition is harder for him now. Hes an amazing player. Good
Job.
Ok heres the shocker of the tourney. In round 2 Andrew Krekeler
(Meganiums son) who is 6 years old is running a Typhlosion/Magcargo and
is the coolest little guy ever to exist is playing against Newman who is
like in college and playing a Kabutops/Steelix. This game was what
Pokemon is supposed to be like. Before the game everyones like o newmans
gonna win Andrew KOs his Kabutops with Magcargo then that was Koed by
Kabutops then that was koed by Magcargo then that was Koed by Kabutops
and that Kabutops was Koed by something. And finally it comes down to a
flip for
Typhlosion. If tails he wins, if heads they draw. He gets Heads and they
take a draw. Everyone is like O_O. I will never underestimate Andrew
again. He is the greatest 10 and under and he will only get better. So
watch out you other 10 and unders. Well I go see how everyone else is
doing and Kctheprofessor is playing Jumpluff Maddness and its like
Espeon/Umbreon V.S. Espeon/Xatu with tons of removal and stuff. That
Xatu was pwning against KC moving the Darkness to Espeon, Cleffa, and
Elekid. So he gets 3 prizes that
way. But KC just KOâ?Ts his stuff with Espeon winning the match. That
was a good game to watch. Well the next pairings are up and we begin.
Round 3: UT versus I think KctheProfessorofpoke with Espy/Umby Well this
game is certainly interesting. My Eggy does some fascinating stuff Koing
his Umby because he didnt remove a Gold Berry and Koing his Espy with
the Eggsplosion. He has very little left and I just Sweep Through the
game. I think he did get another Espy but it was OHKOed by Typhlosion. I
am his only loss going into Top 8. He is an amazing player, AMAZING!!!
TR Shadow isnt doing too well at this point. And I talk to Jumpluff
Maddness some more and I think he wins this round. Im not sure though.
Round 4: UT V.S Meganium/Butterfree run by TR Shadows friend Allison.I
get a Cyndaquil against a 40 HP Caterpie and win. Thats it.
I go around looking at other games. And KC is playing against like I
think its Kabutops/Scizor and wins by time I believe. Jumpluff madness
beats a Kingdra/Jumpluff and I think TR Shadow isnt doing too well
still. Ditto is just pwning with his deck.
Round 5: UT V.S. Electrode/Dodrio/Eggy (KYDAD on boards)
He got the idea of this deck for me so I know this deck like the back of
my hand. So I know if you KO the Dodrio you can easily beat this deck. I
get some good flips for Fire Recharge and Eggys attack. So I go for it
and I do get it, he then gets a lot crappy flips during the game and I
win barely. Very, very good game.
I think Jumpluff Maddness is like 3-2 right now. KC is 4-1 and Julie is
like
2-3. Ditto loses this I think against Andrew with Typhlosion/Cargo, but
Im not sure.
Round 6: Draw with Newman
After much talk we decide to draw. Its interesting who all Top 8. Here
is
the standings I think not quite sure.

3. 13 Points Newman Kabutops/Steelix
4. 13 Points Kctheprofessor Espy/Umby

6. 12 Points Kanden Lenderman Scizor/Kabutops
7. 12 Points Local forgot his name Ampharos (weird how he made it)
8. 11 Points Jumpluff Maddness Espy/Xatu (we were like hes not gonna
make it cause we didnt think 11 would make it but Im glad he did)
Well Chad Young isnt happy he didnt make it, he got 9th overall. Zak
Krekeler wins the 10 and under with a Jumpy/Kingdra beating Andrew
Krekeler with Typhlosion/Magcargo.
Well we take a twenty minute break, which I REALLY need. I am about to
fall asleep. Its about 6:30 right now. I find out Im against Jumpluff
Maddness and we sit down and shuffle and talk. I ask Meganium45 if I can
get the comfortable chair by the DCI reporter and he says yes and that
just makes me like the happiest little child ever. I also get Lemonade
and Cheez Its. We then start the round.
Top 8 Round 1: UT V.S. Espy/Xatu played by Jumpluff Maddness
I get a very crappy start while he gets a pretty bad one but a better
one. BTW this is the first time I go first so far. I couldnt get
anything for so long but I finally top deck an elm and I make him sign
in cause it saved
my life. I draw so much stuff and I get Typhlsion and Eggy going and
start pwning. I KO like 3 different Espys. And that was game. Jumpluff
Maddness is soo cool and were both glad that he made it with such a
Rogue deck. His deck really works against Special Energy decks with all
the moving around and removal of energy. I sign his Jumpluff and I just
talk to him some more.
Here is how the top 8 went.
Newman Kabutops/Steelix V.S. Kanden Kabutops/Scizor
Kanden gets a good start and Newman gets a bad one and Scizor is just
better then Steelix. I actually wanted Newman to win cause I didnt want
to play Kanden at all.
Kctheprofessor Espy/Umby V.S. Loacl with Ampharos
KC got lucky playing the most unexperianced player. When I saw this
decklist after he made top 8 I was just like O_O he was playing like 1
Lanturn in the deck 1 Light Lanturn and 2 different Ampharos. KC just
owned him like whoa.
BigPappaPoke Mega/Eggs V.S. Ditto SMF
I didnt really see this match but Eggs is definitely a card to recon
with. Its amazing how good it is. Its just hard to beat when you can do
like 100 to any benched Pokemon you chose to. Ditto is a really cool
person but I was wanting Scott to win cause Scizor=Bad Stuff IMO.
Well I would want to play KC or PappaPoke but no I get to play Kanden.
Well I go first and get bad stuff while he gets Scizor built. I finally
get a 3 energized Typhlosion against a Scizor with Gold Berry and his
Pichu, I fail on Fire Recharge and I cant do anything. So he Kos
Typhlosion with me failing Focus Band. Then he cleans through
everything. Chad Young built this deck for him before the tourney BTW.
If someone else would be playing this I wouldnt have been so frustrated,
but Kanden is just not experienced IMO and he just cleans through
everything with Scizor.
PappePoke beats KC after a very very long game. It takes them like 20
minutes to do a sudden death. =\
Finals: Mega/Eggs V.S. Kabutops/Scizor
Scott Holder gets the best hand ever. And he gets an Eggy out that
cleans through everything, I mean EVERYTHING. He cant get Scizor up
cause he discards like 6 energy to KO it then he just hits the bench
Koing babys and other stuff so he cant power up. I am glad Scott wins,
he needs to win. He did awesome. He played 2 different Scizor decks with
a Meganium in top 8 and he beats all.
I got 12 packs and I dont get much that is good. No Crystals of
anything. And I open the packs with Jumpluff Maddness. Today was such a
fun day and I really enjoyed it. Thanks Meganium45 you are my god. Now
