Hello Pojo-ers. This is Johnny Kettler, live from the May Super Battlezone, in Plano, Texas! There were thrills, chills, and even spills this tourny! Well, enough of being a fool, on to the show...

I woke up and got there at about 9AM or so. The store running the event (Creative GIft Baskets) was not open! So I got some donuts, and came back at about a little past 10AM. I chatted with a couple pals, did some trades, etc. And at about 12 or so, we finally got to start the tournament...

Oh, sorry about that folks...I seem to be forgaytfaul en mah old ayge ^_^""

Round 1: Vs. Robert (Kingdra)

Not much happened this game. All he did was FTKO me with a Tyrogue (0-1)

Round 2: Vs Sarah (Donphan/Steelix)

This was an interesting (and long) game. I managed to control early game by using Syncroblast to knock out her 'Phan. Later, the game was all about my Aquapolis Steelix, slamming down with Earth Rift. Eventually, I barely managed to finish the game via earth rift with only 4 minutes left! (1-1)

Round 3: Vs Mathew (Entei/Cargo)

This guy is a local up at my Allen-based league, so we know each other. This pal of mine was playing an odd fire deck. While at times he got close to controlling the board with Cargo, Alakazam always found a syncroblast to counter. Eventually, I won the game against my pal (2-1).

Round 4: Vs Reuben (Grass)

Remember how I got Tyrogued? Well, the same thing happened here, only I won this time. I made a deal with him that if I FTKO'ed, then I'd give him three fries. It happened, and I won
(3-1).

LUNCH: So I spent some time eating food. Burgers and fries! ^_^
Seriously, I got some good trades in, like a playset of Jumpluff, 1st edition Magneton, etc, etc. Overall, I relaxed, and was ready for the fifth round...

Round 5: Vs Robert B. (Entei/Cargo)

This was a good, close game. Syncroblast was, as always, a major player against fire. I managed to deal lots to him, and he to me. Eventually, all he had was a Magcargo, and the game was decided by a mere Focus Band flip. My Kadabra attacks...and scores! (4-1)

Round 6: Vs. Clay (Kingdra/Steelix)

Now, this was also a really good game. He dominated the first part of it, with me getting owned royally for some time. Heck, he even had Unown M out to boot, totally restricting my Steelix! However, I gained a rebound by building up an Alakazam. You see, my deck works relatively well against a Kingdra. For only 1 energy, I can either do a base 50, or remove all my damage! I imagine that if I work harder, this deck could soon counter Kingdra altogether. But sadly, the time limit went out, and he was declared the winner (4-2).

Round 7: Vs. Ryan (Typhlosion/Cargo/Entei)

This game was my most intense, as (with the points currently distributed) whoever lost this would not go on to the T8. To add more to this, he is a pal of mine up at that league, with the same skill level as myself. I must say, it was tough, as he was about to control the board on several occasions. However, Sycroblast pulled through for me against his Magcragos and Typhlosions time and time again. I eventually won the match, and my spot in the T8 (5-2)

T8 Match round: Vs Robert B. (See round 5)

Yes, this is the same kid from my fifth round. However, I have a bad habit of being beaten down by the same person I royally beat down in the regular swiss! Seriously, it was a good game, but he eventually pulled through against my Syncroblasting, and won the game.

EPILOGUE: I received my 6 booster packs for making the T8, and was content with how I did. I stayed around to watch how things would turn out. The finals were pretty intense, but in the end, Clay won the tournament.

Overall, I must say how proud I am that this horribly rogue deck made Top Eight! Not only good, but it also beat fire on several occasions, and held its own to Kingdra! I think I may have started a new trend... ^_-

Kirby: <(-_-")>

Patriarch: Don't worry Kirby! The economy will be better soon! I'm sure your Enron stock will go up from $0.00 very soon!
^_^""

Seriously, hope you enjoyed my report, and make sure to try the idea! Believe me, it actually works!

Sincerely,
~Johnny/Patriarch
