Water Energy 13

With this deck, I tried to mix in the grass weak Totodile, incase of
lightning, and of course the rogues were there should lightning appear.
After playing DkAmphys deck on #pojo one becomes paranoid, you know.
The metal was to allow Gatr to do 30 damage instead of 40 on an
uninjured poke so gold berry wouldn't become an issue.  It also helps
with crocs 2nd attack, so he doesn't injure himself.  The Stadiums are
mostly tech to counter other gyms.  Incidently, My sons also played in
this tourney using EnCargo (Kevin) Scizor/Espy (Jeremy won age 11-14
division) Donphan/Babies (Zack won 10- division)

Round 1 vs Typhlosion/Houndoom(black  fang) AQ deck
He got out a Houndour and a cleffa…I had rogue, 'nuff said…game was
over in 3 flips of heads (Rougue Rules!)
1-0

Round 2 vs Dk Raichu/Dk Dragonaire
This girl was a methodical, thoughtful player and her deck did well.
My rogues saved me from her pikachus in large part, but when time was
called, I was up two prizes, and it was the middle of her turn.  My
rogue was out against her full juiced Dk Raichu with 2 babies on the
bench with 1 damage each on them…3 heads would defeat me…first flip,
tails! Whew!
2-0

Round 3 vs Scizor/Espy
I have to play my own son! Ouch!  He gets a bad start with two eevees
and I have rogue who takes out the first eevee but he evolves to espy
before I can get to the other.  I manage to take out the scythers before
they become scizors with my juiced Gatr and win with him drawing 4
prizes, mostly due to espy wiping out totdiles that couldn't grow into
Gatrs and babies.  This was Jeremys only loss in swiss!
3-0

Round 4 vs EnCargo

This was a WELL designed EnCargo deck…very fast and really held its own
vs water, but I was able to get crocs, then Gatrs juiced up pretty quick
and kept D gusting out his slugmas and Enteis for the KO…he took out one
of my gatrs with a Cargo, but it took all his energy, and my benched
Croc finished the job.  He drew 2 prizes.
4-0

Round 5 vs Dk Gengar.

This guy was a professor, and a stickler…He was also undefeated at this
point.  He got a Dk Gengar up pretty quick, but I kept my croc unevolved
and did my initial damage with him, so when he did pull in, I simply
evolved and killed him…then, lucky me…his only other Gengar was in his
prizes.  We were tied at 4 prizes a piece when time went off…but I had
him if we could have finished.
4-0-1

Round 6 vs Donphan/Babies

Ack!  My OTHER son! He was undefeated at this point, having beaten my
son with the EnCargo deck with AWESOME flips.  He is only 9 years old,
but he took me to the limit.  Elekid helped me injure his igglybuff who
had a metal AND a FB on it and kept putting my Gatr to sleep (Those
things are hard to kill!)  His donphan would do damage I could clean up
with GB and after I finally got two juiced Gatrs, D Gust did the rest,
destroying his Donphans and Phanphys…but I never could kill that pesky
Igglybuff!
5-0-1

Final 8!!
Two of my sons made the final 8 with me!
Round 1 vs Dk Raichu/Dk Dragonaire

This time around my Tyrogue was more tails than heads, allowing her to
get up her Raichu more efficiently.  I was greatful for a Totodile that
was NOT weak to lightning, as he suvived a hit from Raichu and went on
to evolve into Gatr.  My Tyrogue managed to do 60 to Raichu, and Gatr
finished him off…then plowed through two Dk Dragonaires and a couple of
babies for the win!
6-0-1

Round 2 vs EnCargo (not my son)

This was another "old guy" whos daughter was playing the DkRaichu deck!
 H
e was an excellent player, but Gatr vs Enteis??! 'nuff said.

7-0-1

Round 3 (Championship) vs Donphan/Fortress

This guy had a well thought out deck…the Fortress was a BEAR to take
down with 3 Metals and I was fearful of doing too much Tsunami with the
spikes I had to endure.  But I managed to get 2 gatrs loaded, killed two
phanphys before they could evolve with sparing use of D Gusts, and the
Fortress finally went down for the final prize, as he had no pokes left
on the bench.

8-0-1

I walked off with a sealed box of AQ and two of my kids got 10 and 15
boosters for winning their age divisions and being in the final 8!

Props
To WOTC for sponsoring this cool event
To GymLeader Blaine for running it
To everyone who played!  All were excellent sports and made it a fun
event!
To my kids who had a good time and are excited to do it again
To Jermy101 and LoserKid (DkAmphy) on #pojo Jermy, who's idea this deck
was and DkAmphy who made me fear lightning enough to tweak this deck,
getting me past Raichu twice!
To #pojo for allowing the opportunity to deck test like crazy!

Slops
To the mall where we held it for giving us too few tables!
