My name is Peter Gabriel Smith III.

I played in the Pokemon League in Moorestown, New Jersey on October 19.

1 Nightly Garbage Run (Team Rocket)

1 Prof. Elm (Genesis)

1 Bill's Maintenance (Expedition)

1 Multi Technical Machine 01 (Expedition)

Energys

25 Psychic Energy

There were 16 trainers playing on the tournament that day, including me.

This is how it all started.

Round 1: Peter vs. Alexandria Cortez

The game was competitive. It was a Psyshic (mine) vs. Ground. Since ground is weak to psychic, I had the advantage. After a while, it was two prizes to two prizes. She had a Golem and I had a Gastly (Base) with 20hp. She retreats the Golem and sends out a Hitmonlee from the bench. I drew a card and got PlusPower, when my plan comes into action. I add a psychic energy to my abra on the bench (Abra know has 3 energies). I end my turn without attacking. Hitmonlee does a High Jump Kick and defeats Gastly. Alexandria now has one prize left. I send out Abra, hoping I get Kadabra, which I didn't. I got a Bill and used it. I then got yet another Bill and used it. This time I got a Kadabra and evolved Abra. I used a Super Psy and added the PlusPower I got a few turns ago. Hitmonlee was defeated because he had 60 hp. I drew a prize and got a potion. Alex sent out Golem (her only pokemon) with no energies. She had no energies right now, so she ended her turn. I used Super Psy and used it again in my next turn, knocking out Golem, which means I won the round.

Round 2 (8 players remained): Peter vs. Robert Schmidt

Robert was using a water deck and I was using a psychic. I will skip the boring stuff and go right to the action. One prize is left for both trainers. It is my turn and I have a Xatu (Discovery) with 70 hp left and 3 energies. He had a Seel (Base) with 60 hp and 3 energies. I draw a super potion and attack Seel with Super Psy. On Robert's turn, he is smiling a lot. He attaches an energy to Seel and evolves it to Dewgong (Base) with 30 hp. He adds another energy and uses a super potion. He now has 70 hp. He does Aurora Beam, leaving me with 20 hp. At this point, it looks hopeless. I draw a card, which is a Multi Tech. Machine 01. I think for a little while and come up with a plan. I add an energy to Xatu and use the super potion from a few turns ago. I know have 60 hp. I use Super Psy, leaving him with 20 hp. He adds an energy and uses Ice Beam. I know have 30 hp. He flips the coin trying to paralyze me, but it lands on tails. I then use Super Psy and win the match. I will now move to the Semi-Finals.

Semi-Finals: Peter vs. Drew Hightower

Drew is using a Fire deck and I'm using Psychic. I'm going to make this very simple. We each have one prize left. It is my turn and I draw an energy. I thought the game was over so I just attached it to my active Pokemon. I didn't realize that if I attached it to my benched Pokemon, I could have won by retreating. I ended my turn. On his turn he evolved Growlithe into Arcanine and hit me with Flamethrower ending the game. The tournament was now over for me, but I think the Psychic Showdown Deck was a success.
