This is my second pokemon league tournament, and let me say that if you compare this tourny to the last one, you may be surprised. unfortunately, I was struck down in the 2nd round. On the other hand, I had a great time, and got some promotional cards. I took the pain with my tried and true Almost Hay:

Pokemon (12):

2 Scyther (Jungle)
2 Onix (Neo Genesis)
2 Steelix
1 Rocket's Scyther
1 Electabuzz (Base)
2 Rocket's Zapdos
1 Hitmonchan (Base)
1 Igglybuff (Neo Discovery)

Trainers (21):

3 Pluspower
3 Gold Berry
2 Master Balls
2 Energy Removal
1 Computer Search
1 Rocket's Secret Experiment
2 Item Finders
2 Professor Oak
2 Professor Elm
1 Scoop Up
1 Super Scoop Up
1 Ecogym

Energy (27):

8 Lightning
6 Fighting
6 Leaf
3 Double Colorless
3 Metal
2 Rainbow

The format was single-elimination, and the heat was on everyone. No matter how good you are, an unlucky hand could lead to an instant loss.

Round 1: Vs. Aaron L.

Not a very long game. I started out with a decent hand, and was almost wiped out by a dark typhlosion. Fortunately, he got only one heads, and I proceeded to kill it with rocket's zap. eventually, the dust cleared and I won.

Round 2: Vs. Danny

When the game started, I had a clearly superior hand, while all he had were some babies. Now you may be thinking, "Just babies? Johnny is going to win easily." If you think that, you obviously underestimate the usefulness of the common baby. Although I slaughtered most of his babies, he managed to stall so long, he charged up a tiny larvitar into a fully powered Tyranitar. Naturally, he trampled me to death, and I lost.

Epilogue:

Although I lost, I still obtained many promos, and even bet some in matches. Danny managed to beat his 3rd opponent, and in a very close game against David H. (Another contender), won again. So I took one last look at my name on Texas Game Company's sign before it was erased. Fortunately, it may come back in the future...
